I know I can't win this one so this is my rant.

Fluidic and Borg Tribbles should not be available in the C-Store. Unlike the "exclusive" items that we purchase with the game. (That I also think should not be available in the C-Store but that another issue.) These items we actually had to earn. We had to play on Tribble Test Weekend a three day event. This makes us special and gives others a reason to do Tribble Test Weekend. When other players see them they are wow by them.

I also play on Tribble when an issue in game comes up that is important to me like the PvP queue or Data Samples bugs. I know that when we finely see the crafting or ground combat updates I will be there.

Now if all we need to do is wait a couple of months to buy them what's the point of Tribble Test Weekend. Less players will show up to Tribble Test Weekend.

Oh please, the tribbles don't make you special. During the test weekend there were PLENTY of people who just logged on for an hour and hung around ESD w/ out testing a single thing and they still got their tribbles. How special are they?

The real reward here is the fact that we got our tribbles MONTHS before anyone else did and FOR FREE. I think the intensive to get an item ahead of other people and to get it for free while others will be forced to pay for it is PLENTY of motivation to get people testing on the test events.

I grow exceptionally tired of C-Store apologists that support Cryptics continual degeneration of putting more and more stuff in. I'm really curious why Cryptic can maintain a decent store on CO which dosent shill this badly and has the ability to get unlocks INGAME while STO somehow decides C-Store gouging is the way to go.

Maybe it's because Cryptic thinks that Trekkies are more gullible and stupid than comic fans? It certainly seems to be the case in my eyes. And it looks like it's working because we keep seeing things added without any way to attain them in-game (other than the Galaxy/Intrepid/Defiant refits). Until I see everything else as unlockables I'll only see the "money gouging" that you do. A shame, really. The game itself is starting to shape up nicely, but I am continuously put off by this shameless marketing tactic.

What the big deal? if you spent 30 sec log on you got for FREE. If you did not log on that just means you new player or not playing the game anyway. How hard was it to log on the test sever? Puting Limited edtion item in the C-Store is good idea. It rewards Active players that log in regluar. Something STO is in short supply of.

    Jesus Christ

If you want to encourage people to play, how about making them WORK for that item via ingame methods ?
People want these tribbles, make the craftable using the tribble system - TADA you make all those 'ACTIVE PLAYERS' spend time trying to breed tribbles until they get one like the Cold Tribble.

Oh no, we have to satisfy the instant gratification crowd by offering it on the C-Store.

Its not Limited Edition if its available to buy to the public any more than the Connie. It WAS limited Edition if it REMAINED available only to those that got issued one for being on the Test Server. I dont care about having a limited piece of TRIBBLE, I do however care about Cryptic CHARGING for it and the precedent they CONTINUE to set by doing so.

These things were offered as a reward to testers for participating in an event but because some folks whined like children Cryptic caved and now make them available to everyone.

Precedent 1: Once again Cryptic have demonstrated no ability to grow a goddamn spine when enough people scream about wanting access to those 'items'

Precedent 2: Once again Cryptic have demonstrated that 'Limited Edition' items are only limited until Cryptic decides they can make a fast buck out of it.

Result: How long until we start seeing these weekly episode mission items on the C-Store because players whine they want them ?
One reward per episode, Five episodes in a series and we have at least three series coming.

15 items or more going to be slapped in the C-Store one by one and continuing until the C-Store ends up being a catalogue of inane TRIBBLE.

You're way off on that. The episode rewards will still be available. The only items that MIGHT end up on the C-Store are the ones that you get for completing the series before the next one comes out. Knowing Cryptic's track record it will happen... So, by your math it would be 3 items, not 15. It would still be 3 too many, though.

Are you being serious? The fact that this is even ON the forums is laughable. You had 2 hours of freetime that people with a life did not have, and you think it should be like a "i'm special" badge? God talk about pathetic.

My name is Captain Jason Korrel aka Stoney and I approve of this post.

It's one per character, not per account. You should be able to claim it on all your characters.
Thank you. Why did they say it was 1 per account? Oh well, thanks.

isnt that what subscriptions are for, duuur ?

duuur? Your subscription gets you the must-have, basic content. The C-store gets you stuff you don't have to have. Duuur.

Instead we shall continue to shill the most inane stuff possible from Emotes to Tribbles to milk cash outta people but thats TOTALLY alright because you dont HAVE to buy this stuff.

Right. Its called supply and demand. It makes the world go around. Glad you are kinda starting to clue in. Duuur.

I'm not an apologist for Cryptic. I am a supporter of free market economies. Duuuur.
