Cryptic Store Bonus Items

Before cryptic put the special tribble and targ pup in the cryptic store, the only way to get them was to get them with your game at certain stores. Now you can just get them with 120 C-points. Since this is being done with some of these items which could only get through buying another copy of the game, could other special items like the automated defense battery, deployable turrets, and unique armors be sold like this too? If they all cost only 120 like the tribble and targ, that would really dazzle me.

I also would like to pick up the Automated Defense Battery without having to buy a Digital Deluxe Edition of the game. All the other perks of that version are available in the C-Store why not that one?

Here here! It is long past time that they added those items to the C-store.

I partially agree... Eventually they should get there, and the turret is important (you guys have no idea how many deaths this thing has saved me from, because it kills of plasma torps).

    Just remember:

The turret is only useful when plasma torps get within 3 km, and only every 5 seconds and it only does 46 DPS, so it wont take down any ships for you. (range and recharge time). so it won't save you in Terra Dome or Borg DSE's

The armor is useless above Lt. Cmdr, because it dosen't level up with you.

    (ya... i have both)

So wanting theese things because you think it might help you beyond theese areas... Well... they won't help you then.

If only it were an engineering console instead of a tactical console. That would be sweet.

Signed +1. ALL pre-order/edition items should be able to be sold on the C-Store or none at all. Half of my stuff is up there and half of my stuff is still exclusive. It doesn't make much sense to me.

Not quite. I have paid for the tribble, but I don't use it. (Damn thing eats all my food and creates babies. I should be allowed to neuder it!) I also have the "antique" Consitution. I have used the Borg bridge officer on some of my characters, but not all of them. For all of these things, a particular character concept may strike my fancy and I then decied to use them.

Well, the Borg BO, and the Tribble can actually help you alot, but as I said the Armor dosen't level with you, and as such it is pratically useless above Lt.

The turret only fires one every 5 seconds, a single shot, that does 46 damage (if I remember right), so it can't take a ship, and it can only take out one incoming high yield projectile.
It is useful in most PvE and PvP matches, but only because there are so few incoming HY projectiles at a time... It is useless in for example terradome, where the plasma torpedoes keep raining from the enemies.

That only makes them "barely useless".

In the case of the BO and the Tribble, I believe there are equivelents in game for them, if not extremely close to them.

I think one of the reasons they are not in there is because they are not avalabile through in-game means nor is any equivilent to them. From my point of view, I kinda don't see these going up on the Store because that.

On the flip side however, I think these would work better as, say, a mission reward for they are at. But this is just my opinion.

I can absolutely see my Armor as a early mission reward of sorts... or perhaps finishing somthing before somthing else at a lt.

The turret might be... A rare drop for 3x first place on a fleet action perhaps?!? I really cant see it as a mission reward.

Yes, I definitly agree. I'd love to get my hands on the deployable Steam turret, and I'm definitly not paying £34.99 for another copy of the game just to get it!

I agree that the rest of the Pre-order items need to be added to the C-Store. Cryptic shouldn't stop halfway through.

Here's my list of items that need to be added to the C-Store
Red Matter Capacitor--A unique item that charges up and delivers extra energy to all of your ship’s equipment for a short time. A device that, when used, gives you a small bump in energy, has a long recharge.

Automated Defense Battery--This Tactical Module grants any ship a passive 360-degree attack power with a short range. 45 Plasma damage every 3 Seconds

Multi-Spatial Personal Shield--This advanced personal shield system is based on Borg technology, which constantly regenerates itself and the health of its wearer. Features include 10% bonus to healing abilities used on you, +.2 Health Regeneration, 155 Maximum Shield Capacity, +310% Shield Regeneration

Chromodynamic Armor--Features include: 6.1% Physical Resistance, 6.1% Kinetic Resistance, 2.6% Energy Resistance ,+15% Critical Damage, +5% Critical Chance ,+3% Energy Damage

Neodymium Deflector Dish--An in-game item grants a bonus to Auxiliary power, boosts maneuverability, and increases the effectiveness of a ship's Science abilities.

The TR-116 Ground Rifle--Regular Shot: 19 Kinetic Damage, Sniper Shot: 128 Kinetic Damage with 66% Knockback (Sniper Shot doesn't require line of sight)

500 Additional Skill Points--Extra skill points to assign your Captain.

Starfleet Shuttlecraft--The Type-8 shuttle is standard equipment for most Federation starships and starbases. A short-range auxiliary vehicle used for personnel transport and small cargos, shuttlecraft have limited warp capacity. They are unarmed and have minimal shields.

Radiometric Converter--This starship Engineering Console Mod absorbs theta radiation from incoming attacks and sends the energy directly to your EPS conduits to increase your ships power levels.

Light Phaser Satellite Turret – This Tactical Station Mod allows you to deploy a small space phaser turret.
    Additional Info-- Scales with Level

I believe some certain items should remain exclusives. That's all.

I agree, but that ship has sailed. It should be an all-or-nothing affair at this point.

I agree with this. Some of us spent a LOT of real money to get all these items and when our exclusives get added to the C-store for a couple buck each we literally feel robbed.

So those of us at certain overseas locations should be punished for not having a store that carried them, nor having a certain mailing address? If the cost in cryptic point is equivalent to the price for that particular version of the game, I don't see how you are being robbed.

I'm satisfied with what there is there already.

Although I'm under no illusions that all these items will eventually be made avaliable to everyone, the longer they are out of regular member's hands, the better. The more worth our money it was to pre-order... For these exclusives to appear for normal purchase after just five minutes would rob us. A year into the game? I think that is fair.

I come across as a jerk for saying that, but I'm more or less in the "nothing" camp of "all or nothing".

The problem is there are many items they can't add to the C-Store
Why? Because some lik the Red Matter capacitor have a "profund" impact on gameplay.

+25 power to ALL systems for 10 seconds.
Thats 10 seconds an engineer could turn his ship into an UBER ship with ALL power systems above 100%
Thats a huge boost to maneuvrability, shield strenght, weapons power, AUX(which affects hull healing and other aux dependant powers)

I have it and i use it, but i have had people whine at me somewhat fiercly for using it in PvP.

I have it, I use it, and I can say with certainty that normal batteries are better most of the time. A shield battery heals, brings shields back online, and provides a much larger bonus. A engine battery brings engines online and does a great job of getting a ship out of a rough situation. Aux batteries allow a ship with moderate to low aux to throw some nice science powers around for a moment. The Capacitor is most useful for ships that are not running max weapon power and are not being stressed at the time.
