ive not slept for 47 hours so i might be a bit blury but there was an explo mission that you had to destroy relics on the fed side, could have been due to a bug who knows but you had to kill 4 relics and then scan the last and beam it up. but still little circles on the map like when you 1st start sto and the explo have little circles on the map where togo or make the objects themselves hostile so they show up not only as destructable but as a mark on the map like an npc does.
we dont have exploration missions, we have enemy contact missions called exploration because they couldnt think of anything else todo to give us content apart from copy paste clusters, swap out npcs and remove nearly all the non combat and all of the aid the planet quests.
the fact remains all they have todo to remedy this is that they are no longer destructable objects but scanable objects that we then put a bomb on or something to kill it. thats all that is needed, the scan to get us to it and a boff to say kill it sir after you have scanned it.
It's actually a tech issue which prevents this from happening. The difference being that the tricorder scan is looking for interactions described as "clickable" on the map, and then pointing the way there.
Your objectives however are described as "destructable" and so the tricorder doesn't pick them up.
I know... not really cool.
So, what we have is a tech issue, AND we think that we may have a solution. I'm not making promises about a when, or even guaranteeing it will happen right now. However, I did just put a bee in the ear of about half the STO team, starting with Stahl, and they walked me around, we spoke to various different members of the team, and they are going to look to see if it can be done easily. If not, it will take a while longer to get out to you. However, we are working on it!
Thanks,

Wouldn't it be easier on you guys if you just edit these maps, and say in the text that the ship fires "probes" at each object location. Make the probes non-desctrutable, but "clickable", so we can find them with klingon tricorders. We search for a probe, double click it to turn it off, blow up the whatever-we-were-assigned-to-blow-up, and there you go. Problem solved, no new tech needed by you guys.

I think they want a more permanent solution rather than to make some crazy excuse as to why we are "bombing" things for no reason when we all have phaser rilfes in our hands. None of us know what exactly is going on with the code.

That's a pretty amazing idea. I'm being serious. I like it. It's low impact, uses tech they have and solves the problem without reinventing the wheel. Seems like it would take a little bit of organization, attention to detail and be a bit of a boring assignment. But ... it does seem like it would fix the problem.

The KDF doesn't really need a crazy excuse to bomb something.

It does the same thing when I get to the "poison the water supply thing" thats not destructible
well check this out, next time your in defri on the daily whilst on the daily fire of a scan it will be blue and work, hand in the q it will be red and no longer work ^^, same in fluidic space q's.
i think this is more todo with an internal glitch from firing over the cluster missions designed for feds rather then actually base coding if you know what i mean.
its quite simple really. instead of shooting the destructibles you could have a clicky to place an explosive charge. this would then make the destructive items click able and more importantly scan able.
