Restricted items I can\t buy!

I am annoyed that I can't buy any of the new ships from the C-Store because character is not an Admiral. Now this is really sad because I love STO and want to support the DEV's. Why is it not possible to allow someone to purchase a ship that can't be used until Admiral and just keep it locked from that character? This Restriction also forces me to miss out any C-Store sales that occur. I am very disappointed that this system is as it is.
I hope one of the Devs can explain the thought behind not taking my money for an item I want but can't use yet! It should be possible to allow my character to use the ships when I reach the needed rank but still own it.

I am sure I read somewhere that you can buy C-Store items that are above your level, however you will only be allowed to redeem them when you reach the correct level.

This question interested me as well but I have only reached Lt Commander on all my characters so I will wait until there is (hopefully) a Christmas promotion

pretty sure its because the ships you buy dont come from the shipyard, they go straight into your ship slots. in which case a lt commander would suddenly have a tier 5 ship.

dunno why its setup that way, but understandable they dont want you purchasing them until you can actually use them.

should have just made it so you purchase, then can claim from the shipyard or special unlocks section of cstore only once reaching the level needed, rather than throwing it straight into your ship slots

I agree with this totally. This should be done asap!
