I am sorry to be so blunt about this, but why even have a sale on EVERYTHING* if you are not going to include the Excelsior? Really! Why?

In the end you Atari/Cryptic will not drive away your customers because of bugs or lack of endgame. It will be the business model you are pursuing that will alienate your customers. I for one am glad I do not have a LTS. That way I have the choice to support this game and your respective companies (which, it is seeming more and more likely I will not be doing once my sub runs out).

Its a shame too, because STO is not a bad game, even with all its problems.

You could have made a gesture to your customers after you release a skin that should have been in the game from the start with meaningful functionality (which you explicitly said you would not do) through the C-Store and included it in the sale.

I askded the same thing . . .the relpy I got was basically "becuase it just went up for sale on the C-Store and would p-o people who just bought it".

    crappy, but plausible.

Yeah, I get that. Then again they seems fine with releasing most of the box bonus items 100 days after some people had spent up to $600 on multiple boxes in order to get those items. This effectively gave me a discount of up to $580 on those items. I do not see how $3 can compare to that move.

Better yet release the Excelsior to coincide with the sale...

    I don't think Cryptic's marketing team thinks things out very much . . .

If they knew there was going to be a sale a week after the T5 Excel was put up, they could have easily introduced it at a "For this week only 20% off . . ." from the beginning to continue that sale price into the actual sale.

But, then, that wouldn't have p-o'd as many customers as possible, their apparent goal with everything they do.

    This ^^

I love the game but if they continue to put content in the C-store I won't be around much longer. Yes ships and races are content. They add a new dynamic to the game even if it's not majorly game changing. If every new ship they release is only in the c-store it will hurt cryptic bad, especially going into the next few months of 2 major IP MMO's and an expansion for the biggest MMO ever coming out. That is all.

What get's me is you are asking this question at all, They have always done this the newest thing is not in the sale so get over it it will be in the sale on the next holiday, it's been that way since the beginning.

Is your problem with that the Excelsior is not included with the rest of the discounted items or that it's up on the C-Store at all? If it is the former, then stop complaining. They did the same thing with the previous sale and I'm sure that the next sale they have will have it included if you are inclined to wait. If it's the latter, then I'm with you all the way. The amount (and timing) of items being sold is just wrong on all accounts, especially with the pre-order stuff.

    Math: 100 days > 10 days.

    Math: 100 days > 10 days.

    Math: $580 / 100 = $5.8 a day > $3 / 10 = $0.3 a day.

This is my problem with Atari/Cryptic and the C-Store:
It will be the business model they are pursuing. I simply felt that given the fact that they firmly stated that they would not release functionality solely through the C-Store, putting the Excelsior on sale would have been a small gesture since they have gone back on their word.

Business is business, but if the business partner goes back on what they said, then they are not trustworthy. Atari/Cryptic needs to start earning that trust back. Top priority is to release a T5 cruiser with Lt Cmdr slots and stats similar to the Excelsior purchasable for energy credit at the same price as regular T5 cruisers.

500 Emblems is slapping your customers in the face Atari/Cryptic. Yes I am referring to refits. Functionality needs to be available through regular in game means. Not changed to encourage a C-Store purchase Atarti/Cryptic.

500 Emblems are regular in game means. I just with they settled for a C-Store POint / Emblem exchange and be done with it. Instead of having to jump through the same hoops with every ship or item on the C-Store.

Of course people will still ***** about the exchange ratio. So be it.
