Federation Dreadnought Cruiser overpriced?

I admit it. I baught it. And like a lot of people I now regret it. My main reason for buying it was because I liked the episode. But really, 800 more points than any other ship, and it only has 7 weapon slots? I know it has the cloak and spinal lance, but honestly they dont really preform well enough for the 800point hike. Any one else feel like they should work on evenign out the pricess?

you would have been better off saving your bucks for the refits, namely the excelsior and the nebula. the galaxy is by all means less fortunate then the rest. its a toothless dreadnaught.

I'm gonna get it for free, though it'll take me a bit longer.

In fact, I *get* 2k Cryptic points...

    <3 recruiting people. ;)

It just needs the cooldown on the lance reduces to a minute or two and it'll be fine imo.

The $25 price for it is acceptable since it was originally meant to be just available for people that recruited 5 or more friends to the game.

I concur. However that thinking does not apply to any of the other massively overpriced ships however. All of which we should be able to earn in game.

I suspect that we will see the Excelsior be available for 500 to 750 Emblems in a few weeks.

Maybe so but for anything over 100 emblems it would smack of a tease and a not so subtle way to direct people to use the store for that "quick fix". Unless the current emblem rewards are greatly enhanced in a meaningful way.

actually the dreadnought is suppose to be the best...it all depends on how you use it...the turn rate is slow because it is meant for long distance attacks...the weapon slots are upgraded...and if you used escorts to test it well let me tell you that escorts are suppose to take down all ships named cruisers easily...and dont tell me about officer ability console space, for pete sake it is meant for maximun damage not skill dont judge it on how it works if you dont know the meaning of dreadnought which means a heavily armed vessel...id call it heavily armed besides name me one dreadnought in history that is lousier than battleships and use skill over power.that is all i will argue if you want to test this fact challenge me but you MUST use a non escort or it wont be fair

I have bought it during the 50% off in the Q weekend and now have went back to the Sovy... I dunno, it didn't fulfilled my expectations, something is "missing" but i can't really tell what...
Maybe just a bit of tunning, i dont know, but I recognize that i just bought it due to her appearence...

She needs a revised BO layout, and a console needs moved from engineer to tactical. Other then those, a monarch based version would be sweet, and if she could go warp 13 without borg tech.

I only got it, cause I already had every other cruiser as an engineer captain, and bought everything else at the time, off the c-store I wanted anyway. I don't mind it, makes a it like a brick turns better, but I'm used to it, plus my skill points are already allotted to the Assault Cruiser, so I get an extra fun option from time to time in PvE.

I 'do' wish all starship turn rates were better, not just for cruisers, since better turn rates would make it more interesting, and more fast paced for starship combat, across the board. As a part, as a cruiser captain, I keep being used to, well, my ships butt facing foes all the time. Kinda seems a waste of REAL money to not get to fire the Spinal Lance more. (I have to save Evasive Maneuvers for escaping dying ships more, than to use to get my arc angle right.)

In any case, the 20% sale wasn't all a loss despite. :)
