Game crashing on startup

Ever since the patch today I cannot get into the game. I start up the game and choose my character and hit play and the game just crashes. THe first few times I tried I was able to get in but the game was really stuttery and in about 15-20 seconds the game would crash. Now when I try to get into the game as soon as i choose my character the game crashes. Can anybody shed some light on this issue?

    I crash logging in. I get the Cryptic then Atari splash screens, but do not make it to the character screen. I verify and try again, but keep crashing. Strangely, I am able to log into Tribble fine, just not Holodeck.

    Yea I can log in fine on my klingon character but cant get on with my federation one. Very frustrating!!!
