Question about extra costume slots -- off duty?

Hopefully this is the right place to ask this. I seem to recall reading someone claim at some point that the purchasable costume slots were somewhat 'universal' in that you could use them for either standard uniforms or for off-duty looks. Having bought some myself, now that they're per-account, I haven't been able to find any way to use the off-duty elements in either of the new slots.

Can we get word from a dev as to exactly how these are supposed to be working and if the current behavior (allowing 'official' uniform selections only) is 'as intended?' (I'm very much hoping that we can use them for either, uniform or off-duty.)

    Prior to patch 2.0 there was a mini patch long ago which for most players on holodeck, dunno why some missed out, gave us each an extra uniform slot. No C-Store purchase or anything.

    This uniform slot allowed to either use off-duty or otherwise. basically it had a drop down choice for either off duty torso's or uniform torso's, by selecting an option of either type the entire slot then changed into what that type offered.

    Study your slots closesly when modifying them, you may find one is semi-universal.

    I'll answer about purchased slots when I'm in game next, having issues logging in right now.

    Ah...that would be because they're applying yet another patch...

    Hmm. I've heard about the fabled 'free extra slot,' but unfortunately I've never received one on any of my characters. Would still very much like to know what the heck that one is all about!

    You should have, it's the one labeled 'Off-Duty' in between your normal (wearing) and Fleet Uniform slot, in the tailor UI...should look like this:
    (Character name) (wearing)
    Off-Duty (Create)
    New Costume (locked) (unless you're in a fleet)

    And, as far as I know, it will only let you put an off-duty outfit in it...

    No, that -is- the off-duty slot, which as you say, only allows for off-duty looks. Everyone got that. Some people (according to what I've read), but not all, got a 4th slot, which apparently can be toggled between uniform or off-duty, but no one seems to know how or why or why only part of the subscribership received them. I've seen mention of it here and there, but never any kind of comment whatsoever by a dev.

    Of course, I'm still wondering if we should be able to use the purchased slots for either, and very much hoping it should be so!

    No-one besides Ayradyss has noticed this?
    I, too, was under the assumption that off-duty options would be available in these costume slots.
    It's not really "for the fashionistas!" if you can't mix and match! :eek:
