Only costumes so far, unless someone at Marketing actually bothered working on the weekends like the devs seem to.

Prolly not, I haven't seen anything on the news about hostage situations yet

I'd suggest a letter writing campaign to CBS to turn the screws on Kryptic, but I doubt they'd care very much. :p

yeah that will go over real well considering CBS pressured cryptic into releasing early or threatened to yank the license from them. Or how about this go ahead start your letter writing campaign. Then picture this. Cbs gets all these massive letters about star trek online and instead of putting up with the bs over a game they just shut the game down. presto and then they just write the losses off. No more people complaining about star trek online to anyone anywhere anymore.

Especially since Sony owns it all and (according to the ranting of the ex-leader of the local KAG group) hates star trek and does everything they can to limit licensing. (Ruby's foam Klingon armour, anyone? :3 )

Sony owns Paramount who owns Viacomm who owns CBS ;)

KAG is Klingon Assault Group. Folks who make klingon costumes and wear them to conventions and the like.

    =edit=

Whoops. Viacom owns Paramount and perhaps I was mislead about Sony's involvement, but I was sure I saw that somewhere.

Still, no reason to make your posts feel so condescending. : /

    =edit=

Triple checked myself, I was on the wrong side of the coin. Sony owns Columbia and MGM, not Paramount / Viacom.

Ah well, no big deal. C'est la guerre.

First off, I love the title of the thread.

Now, I don't have a problem with the C-Store in concept. Hell, even Blizzard has an MT store for WoW (although there is NOTHING micro about their transactions). However, things have gotten completely out of hand lately. First we had the massive dumping of pre-order items (half of which still, for some unknown reason, are still "exclusive"). Then there was the inclusion of the Galaxy-X. Now this...and a lot more coming down the pipeline according to the latest Engineering Report.

My biggest problem right now is the per-character TRIBBLE, especially when they're only rectifying 1/3 of the issue. So, yeah. I don't like where this ship is sailing.

I read they are going to make all the per character stuff, per account due to all the feedback!

They better change it. At some point you delete a character, then what? You spent the extra money for nothing?

Wow, this takes the concept of throwing money away to a very real level.

I come in this section of the forums and tell people to quit crying about the C-Store all the time. It annoys me how people demand things for free, act outraged when they aren't, and then buy them anyway. I support the C-Store because I truly believe it's brings this new stuff into the game faster then if it was added for free.
That said, I find the concept of per character sales troubling. I would never but anything that wasn't account wide, I don't buy renames or respects or anything consumable already, because I'm cheap. The very idea of non account wide sales could be what brings any support for the c-store to a halt. I feel the only way to stop this from happening is voting with our wallets and boycotting any non consumable item that isn't account wide. A few people raging on the forums won't work to get the attention of the marketing department on this. I say we need a way to organize a concerted effort to boycott these types of items and let cryptic know we are doing it along with how many supporters are involved. All the nerd rage in the world won't get a marketing department to change policy, but loss of projected revenue will.

    sooo.....

how many threads you going to post this in ?

ah he has rights to copy past the same answer over and over on 50 different threads and then still claim 'its only a small number of people' if he wants

after all, when we are all leaving in droves to play starcraft 2, jumpgate evolution or the old republic, hes welcome to still be paying extra for 'per 24 hours' options (as it will end up if it keeps going this way) and spouting "but its how they make money"

Depends on how many times this same subject gets made in different threads with people saying the same things.
