Would you guys PAY for new in-game music (C-Store purchase)

The reason Cryptic didn't use official Star Trek music is because it would have cost way too much to license (even though you would think people would let them use the music to make the game even better). But nothing is stopping them from going to a really good composer and doing music that is in the vein of Star Trek (the current music is ok but sub-par) and offering it on the C-Store.

Just an idea... do you guys like it or not really?

personally i wouldnt pay for "official" trek sounds/music.

but if they made there own stuff, and we were able to sample at least 2-3 minute loop of it to see if we actually like it, then sure.

    Pffft, heck no.

I have the integrated media player, and supposedly music modding is supposedly easy too (I have not tried and do not endorse it, or even know how)

I can soundtrack it exactly the way I want it using my own media library.

Some of the background music we have now reminds me of EvE Online... which is creepy because its very very close to EvE online....

I would Like to see some of the Bridge Sounds that we hear on the ToS Eneterprise, The Motion Picture Enterprise ect... I think these sounds would really add to the immersion of the game....

I use to just love hearing the Sonar sounds and bridge sounds on the Enterprise when I was growing up watching the Shows on TV... so to hear them again in game would be awesome !

    to both:

game music is in a totally diffrent leauge from produced pop/metal/rap etc...

i think most people know how to play there fav' songs in the backround, but not everyone is musically talanted.

if they made a really catchy tune, for example think of doom and final fantasy music. its playing constantly but its never dull.

the in-game music atm is flat out boring and thats just my view no disrespect to the guy/gal who had to work on it.

I would not buy music in the C-Store.

In fact, there isn't much of anything I'd buy in the C-Store. Perhaps character slots if I run short someday, or perhaps some exceptionally good costume items. Currently I don't plan to buy anything at all.

I'd love to see music from the series and shows. What I definitely don't want is Cryptic nickel-and-dollaring me for it.

I would buy a pack of canon music from the C-Store, absolutely. Emphasis on the canon. I'm aware of the fact that Cryptic would have to pay CBS more to use the music, so having us pay for it would be probably the most justifiable item in the C-Store.

Music should be an integral part of the game and never be in the C-Store.
The very notion of it is idiotic.

There is not a SINGLE game in the world that would force you to pay to get all the in-game music.(no expansion packs don't count :p)

music is not what I would pay for.....

I can go to Pandora and type Star Trek, and they stream a bunch of music.....free.

so why pay the high C-Store prices that would inevitable be put on it anyway?.

I wouldn't but I bet there are plenty that would.

    lmao - really?

you post threads about how the c store is the thorn in your side and you see it getting greedier and greddier, and then you post a thread about adding a "purchaceable" soundtrack?

    odd....

To be fair, Dstahl did comment some time ago that they were looking into getting the music, but that there are licensing hurdles.

Well maybe... depends on how good it is and how much it would cost obviously.
It would have to sound Trek. Well uhm "Trek" ... orchestral ... epic?

And no more opera guy! He makes my head asplode!
