C-Store suggestions...

Just a few suggestions for the C-Store that I myself will find usefull and perhaps other users also.

1) Race change tokens. These would enable the user to change their characters race to whichever they want so long as they have it unlocked (via C-Store previous purchase).

2) Traits change tokens. These would permit the user to change their character traits they originally picked while creating their character. Some players may choose certain traits believing they are what they want only to figure out a few hours later that they do not give the wanted effect afterall.

3) Class change tokens. These would permit users to change class which in turn would reset all skill points. Obviously kits would become useless upon becoming a different class (perhaps a kit 'swap' vendor could be implemented?).

I myself would find these 3 options very handy as im often thinking "I wish that race was out at launch" and "I wish I had picked this class instead".

Sure some people may claim its 'easy enough' to just start from scratch but after beta testing the game and having characters in the live version ive probably played the beginning-mid section of the game at least 5-10 times. Its very repetitive now and painful to even think of doing it again. Id rather throw some money to swap things around than take the time grinding through content ive already experienced.

Just a few suggestions anyway. Hope to see them implemented!

Trait changes should be top priority at the moment don't worry about that other stuff. Many people have starter character's with messed up traits and only now do they fully understand the trait system. Re-trait option please Cryptic!

I completely disagree about these changes.

Race change. The only time I can see this a applicable is if you buy a race that was not available when you started playing the game , and you do not have the slots to make a character of said race. For uses like that, I'm not really against.

Trait change. I'd rather them work on something else. Traits have such a small impact on a game play, I cannot fathom why it's necessary to change traits, just deal and move on. In life we often have traits and talents that don't necessary match who we are or what we want to accomplish. Bah, whatever. Make it 1000 CP and call it a day.

Class Change. Really? I bet my Tac officer can sub very well as a science officer with the right ship and crew and I KNOW I can make my Science officer into an effective tac officer with an escort with some well trained B-Offs. If play does not like their 'class', then play the class differently. STO is so flexible that it's very possible to do that. Bah, whatever, 1000 CP please.

this 3 Options whould be nice but you could also play the game 3 times

what i want are more Ship Slots

so that i could have all Cruisers 8, 3 Sci, 2 Escorts and the Runabout

so i could need 14 Ship Slots and not only 8

    1) Race Change and 3) Class Change does not make any sense.

Only 2) Trait Change should be allowed.

Agreed. Just to add more, leveling is a crucial aspect of the game. Seeing how the game is already devoid of much contents and it takes basically a week and half (or even less) to level one character from the scratch to RA5, I say keep the leveling intact. And class changes? Never see that happening. Never saw such thing implemented in any of the major MMOs I've played.

That's something I think should be an option - for example, I've got a 'Cardassian' CO for one of my ships, using the 'Alien' setting in the character creator. That's fine for now, but it'd be an absolute pain in the backside if 'Federation Cardassian' became an option in the C-Store, and there was no way to re-'race' my character to be 'Cardassian' rather than 'Alien'.

As for class change, I'd much prefer that the 'DPS'/'Tank'/'Healer' classes were done away with altogether, and all Captains in-game switched to the 'Command' division, like every Captain in the shows, ever.

I do not know if it was mentioned before... but...

    1. Cryptic could make a new Feature were you can board a ship of another player if the shields are down and the Hull is below 30% (this is actually not the c-Store item). If the boarding game between 2 Ships starts, the boarding player is the Attacker and the boarded the defender. The Attacker starts wis his away team on the ship he does try to board and he has to stay alive... he also needs to fulfill different mission Goals, like getting control of the Machine Room were the warp core is located, this will shut down some energy fields of the Defending player and some gun Turrets in the corridors. And it will trigger a new Mission goal... get control over the Transport Room, so there are no Security Commandos beaming in your back anymore. If there is a Game Mode involving the Bridge and the other interior of the ships, Cryptic could sell an TRIBBLE load of custom bridges and Ship interiors... handle the ship interiors like "Housing" in other MMO's, it should be possible for other players to visit every ship they want or they should be able to walk trough every ship in a Holo Database if they want to see accomplishments of other captains (you should get decoration items for your Milestones and for special quests that you can place on your ship)... with this feature the game would get some more Fun Things to do and the C-Store could fill up with different content like I said.

    2. I would like to have a Ship that was conquered by the Borg and now was conquered back by the federation and is back on active Duty (so the Federation Engineers did build back most of the old stuff but did leave some improvements there). I like the look of assimilated Ships... like in Star Trek Armada 1+2. Maybe the Hull could have a passive regeneration Buff... nothing too big, just the cherry on the cream and maybe it could have one other minor Buff/Passive Power Up. This would just go well with the players that play a liberated Borg like myself ^^ It would even fit in the Story... the federation is in a total war state and could not afford to throw away a ship just because the borg fiddled around with it... if Federation Engineers can disable the stuff that could be dangerous and get it off the ship... why should the federation not use the ship? Just because it looks a little bit assimilated? I do not think so...

    3. I would like to get my hands on some ships of other races... maybe heavily damaged ships that were collected and refitted after battles... that would be a more efficient way than building new ships. The Federation would surely do it in it's current state... not all of the Captains and Admirals would think any good about that, but that's the same with the Community... some will love it, some will hate it... but I think all will accept it in the end and follow their duty ^^ Cryptic could even add the feature so Captains and all ranks above that can lead Expeditionary Forces... so you can have 1-2 smaller Ships (size of the Starter Ships) that will follow you in battle and help you fighting... this way Cryptic could design bigger missions (more ships) without the need of more players... but they could also add some bigger missions were 3 Players (+ their expeditionary Force) could battle in cooperation against a bigger AI Enemy. I think the 1-2 passive Ships that follow you and fight with you could be lower Starfleet Officers or they could be Federation Allies (or maybe some races that want to join the fed, but have to approve... or races that do not want to join the fed directly because of the danger, but want to support the fed) that want to help with their own Ships... there could be many possibilities... Cryptic could stock this system with 3-5 free Fed Ally ships you can buy ingame with credits or earn them through quests and they could later add some in the c-Store that are slightly better or more interesting/attractice by design for some people. Like Guy A says he want to have Raceship X as ally... but Guy B favors the design of Raceship Y. Same for Klingons... there are some minor warrior factions that could join them the same way... maybe trough force. Would also be possible if the Cardassians would be playable sometime in the future... they could have some Jem Hadar Remnants from the Dominion left over... with the right drug... they are loyal followers ^^

So there are countless possibilities to fill up the C-Store but I think Cryptic should do it like they did before in Star Trek Online... all Game mechanisms and features have to be basically usable by the common player that just want to pay each month (or does not have to pay at all, because of the Lifetime) and the C-Store Stuff should be just like a cherry on the cream. So if they get more good features and ideas into the game, they can have even more cherries in the c-Store they can sell to players.

By the way I have a Lifetime Sub and I did spend no points in the C-Store for now... but some of the stuff is really interesting for the future, like more Char Slots and Bridges (like most of the people said, IF there is more stuff to do on the bridge than standing around). I am waiting till there are more ship designs are out there... so I can really choose the ones that I like most. All in All I do not think the C-Store is a big rip-off like some people do... you can pay every month and have a good Star Trek Online game without all the C-Store stuff, there is nothing really important for gameplay in it (besides the char slots) and I think this is the way it should be. If you play for some months and just want to give your T5 Ship a new look, you can buy a new design from the C-store, but you do not have to do it, that's the big point. I am happy to buy 2-4 more char slots for a small price, better than other games, were you have to get a second account with running costs every month (anyone of the c-store enemies did ever think about that?). The costs for this... let's say premium content are really low... if you go into the cinema for a film and buy a coke and some popcorn you pay around 10-12 Euros (or more if it is a 3D Movie)... well... the film is over after 2 hours, the coke and popcorn last for the same time (hopefully). But the items from the c-Store will last as long as the game is running (that will be... a much longer time than a Movie ^^). I don't like it to get ripped-off... but well face it... this is no rip-off, fun is never free and I can not understand people that whine about a few dollars or euros. If you can afford to play STO and have an Internet Connection and a Computer... I think it isn't worth all this crying about the c-Store... it is there... buy stuff from it or not, your decision, but stop crying at all because there are items in the c-store that cost really small amounts of money (i would understand the whining if the items would cost 10-xxxx Euro/US Dollar and if they would be really essential for gameplay... like if you do not have a chance against people that buy C-Store Ships).

More bank space. Another 10 bank slots for 100 points sounds good. As STO continues to grow so does the need to store all my stuff.

Get rid of it. Let them make money of of subscriptions, this would encourage more actual game content then additional items for more cash that were never suppose to influence in game play.

Im not a fan of micro transaction stores, especially for a dev team that we have been told is limited in depth. Seems more time is spent working on the C-store then fixing in game bugs and content.

Sign me up for the Trait change. i made a huge mistake with my selection and I really regret it, however I do not want to change my zero day character now that it's been so very long. I would gladly pay for a trait change.

I'm very happy with the MVAM tactical escort. Thank you for that Crytpic. That was on of the few reasons why I logged back in.

I'm also a lifetime member, I've bought the Collector's edition, the Target edition, and the direct 2 drive version. Just to get my hands on all the "c-store" items before they were c-store items.
