Pro: interesting racial traits. Fantastic job on the facial features and skin textures. Seriously, they look amazing. Good job on tails.

Con: feet are booted and plantigrade, not bare and ditigrade. This is mildly puzzling because tech for ditigrade feet exists in Champions. No option for manes (hair)- though I've read that this is a tech issue that they're working on.

    Have seen a couple in game already, and i agree. They look amazingly well done. Cryptic is starting to turn itself around, now we just need more content for the mission's, and variety.

    I never watched the animated series where the Caitains were seen more readily... but in the movie/series they never showed their feet (as far as I recall) ... Do the Caitians have digitigrade feet?

    I'm pretty sure that M'ress didn't have digitrade feet, so i'm not really certain where the OP got this idea from:confused:.

    M'Ress had digitigrade feet. She also didn't wear shoes.

    That is from a comic book. Anybody have a screen capture from TAS?

    I have TAS on DVD, but do not know when I will have time to scan through all 8 hours of it to see her feet.

    why is it that aliens in scifi/races in fantasy with those sorts of legs NEVER wear shoes? i've never seen one wearing shoes in my entire life, are they barbarians or something?

    Don't forget the hands. M'ress has 4 fingers that are more clubby and pawlike than human. I understand it's a lot of work, but the hands on the caitians in STO look more like a werewolf right now with the long fingernails. A cat has retractable claws which is a different look.

    I do believe that is a preconception you formed while being influenced by Western notions of "civilization". However, it might be perfectly normal for another culture to have different standards of propriety - this might or might not include wearing shoes. Since you never were witness to their culture, how can you possibly judge what is proper and what not?

    In another agenda, does anybody know whether the caitian's parts will be made availabe for the Alien race via the editor? I have got a cat I want to upgrade with a tail and whiskers! :D

    Adding my views to this, as Caitians were the main lure that finally, finally drew me into Star Trek Online, and here I am. M'Ress looks quite different from the Caitians we have in-game. I know that the mane is coming, but the Uncanny Valley human body just doesn't look right at all (sorry), and the hands could use some work. The head would be perfect with a mane, it's just everything below the head that could use some attention.

    I agree the Caitians could use manes on the females, but there were some live action Caitians in Star Trek IV and VI:

    Well the hair is coming, that much has been said by the devs, the only reason that they held off is because they are reworking the graphic-mechanic of all hair in the game.
