C-Store, Honor, Galaxy X ... Oh My!

Cryptic,

I'd like to take this time to express my opinion on a few issues.

C-Store:
Anything that you can purchase in the C-Store for real money, should be obtainable in the game through other means. Either as a reward for a raidisiode, or buy with (a copious amount of merits), or buy with Honor Points.

I believe I remember Cryptic stating that everything in the c-store will be obtainable in game. Thus far this is not the case.

This also should apply to the Galaxy X as it is arguably a game breaker/must have if you want to compete in PvP.

Honor + Marks of Exploration:
For Buying Gear
We should be able to use lower level Marks of Honor / Exploration to procure high level gear.
If an item costs 54 Mark of Exploration 5th order, I should be able to pool my resources from earlier explorations to buy it, as well as my 5th order marks, or any combination thereof.

5th order - 1 to 1 value for Mark X items.
4th order = 2 to 1 value for Mark X items.
3rd order = 3 to 1 value for Mark X Items.
2nd order = 4 to 1 value for Mark X items.
1st order = 5 to 1 value for Mark X items.

This same system should apply to Honor.

We should also get at least 1 Honor Point for killing a player in PvP. Plus it should be easier to earn more than 5 Honor points a day. Doing the dole Daily over and over from Icheb is getting quite old.

Wrong. They said that anything sold in the C-store that effected gameplay would also be available through gameplay. So far, the only thing that falls under that category would be the respec. And before you bring up the Galaxy X, it isn't being sold. That's just the delivery method, the same with the pre-order items.

Multiple C-store captain species with unique racial traits and now the TOS Connie.

Respecs and a Borg BO are available through gameplay, but the above are not and have distinct mechanics that do affect gameplay. I believe this should be rectified.

I stand by my support for sale of purely cosmetic items, though I don't think the balance of basic to premium cosmetic items in STO is reasonable at this time.

Overall, I've been much more impressed with CO's balance and adherence to promises regarding the C-store. Too bad I don't enjoy the game much.

While I won't quite say that you couldn't pay me to play CO, I will say it wouldn't be cheap.

I don't consider race traits to be game effecting, and I doubt Cryptic does either. I don't know how they're going to rectify the TOS Connie thing.

Umm, dude, did you even see why the Galaxy X came out in the first place? As a recruitment tool. It's obtainable in the game, you just have to figure out how to con 5 people into buying, then subscribing to STO.

I'd kinda like to see the Galaxy X in the C-Store (IMO), but my reasoning behind it is that I don't know anyone, well maybe one person, in my area who'd be interested in playing. The one person who might play I asked is a hardcore WoW player, so I kinda don't see him coming over.

You picked the worst possible time to suggest this. Given all that is happening with the C-store right now, the last thing I want is for Galaxy X to appear for in-game merits.

A must have to compete in PVP, you're crazy. People who do use on in pvp should be congratulated for being a target.

I dont see why everyone wants the Galaxy X is it because it has a B.F.G or because it has the ability to cloak I just want to know if the Galaxy X is the Dreadnought that's suppose to counter the Klingon carrier and if not what is?

And you're surprised, because? It's not the first time Cryptic said one thing but did another.

Actually, the races affect gameplay. The Borg BO affects gameplay. The TOS Constitution affects gameplay.

How? Well each of the CStore races have some kind of unique trait. The Borg BO is essentially a Saurian with Efficiency, which makes it about the most powerful BO in the game. The TOS Constitution is a Tier1 ship with an EXTRA engineering console AND weapons (blue phasers) which level up with you.

None of these are available in the game now. Will these be made available through questing or some other mechanic? Actually, probably not. It would be a violation of their propaganda, but hey, it's not like they don't have a habit of violating their own propaganda, is it?

Actually, the Uncommon Saurian BO with 'Efficient' is available in the game... (Just look for the most over-priced Uncommon BO in the exchange...) if "The Borg BO is essentially a Saurian with Efficiency", then whats the point??

And even if the " (blue phasers) which level up with you" is unique to the 'Connie', Uncommon 'Phaser Arrays' of the same Tier Rank will out perform it, so again, what's the point???
