Cryptic,
There has been a lot of complaining about all the stuff that went into the C-Store during the "Mega Update." I for one would like to say Thanks. I was very happy to get the MU Uniform and the Enterprise. Also picked up the new Caitian race and the "Gold" (Rivera) Tribble. They're all very nifty.
Some may call me a fanboy for showing appreciation, but I don't care. I
am a Trekkie, and I'm enjoying this game. It's got it's problems and bugs, but things are getting better with each update and I'm having a great time overall.
Before this release I had already purchased a Collector's Edition of the game with "exclusives" (Amazon Borg BO, Red Matter, TNG/DS9 Unis) and a Digital Deluxe Download (Joined Trill, TOS unis, NX, Khaaan, Bloodwine, and Automated Defense Battery). It does not bother me that other people can now get these things (the TOS uni for free no less). Additionally I have the Del Taco Shuttle Pet and LTS Liberated Borg. If these show up in the C-Store, I'm ok with that too.
Now if only I could make the Enterprise into a Tier 5 ship, give my Borg BO the "Infected" skin type and Lib Borg implant selection, and give my Lib Borg Captain the Borg BO jumpsuit... That would
make me a fanboy!

I actually found that the skirts added a valuable customization option for the females. As sexist as this feels to me.
Unfortunately, I find it makes the "casual" clothing options stink in comparison. I'd rather wear a DS9/TNG movie uniform (stuff I already had before) with a skirt then the casual options.
I guess what we need now, to honor Scotty, is a kilt.
Finally i can actually RP that one of my toons and its crew is from the MU.
Now if only we could get some pre-TOS weaponry, like railguns and missiles. I think it would be funn having to line up a shot, and watching a slow nuclear missile flying out at a target.
Even though I purchased the Collector's Edition of STO, it does not bother me that other people now have the option to purchase the TNG/DS9 uniforms, red matter capacitor, and the Borg BO; I actually welcome this idea.
I think it is a great idea to let more people have more items such as these, I myself loved grabbing the Wrath of Khan uniform since it was free, and am considering purchasing the Khaaan and bloodwine emotes as well.
Thanks again Cryptic.
I also had a retail CE and a downloaded CE for more goodies, i don't mind that people can buy these now.
Still hoping for the Liberated Borg captain to go on the C store
Grt Mike
Yes... and with reasonable prices. 800 CP for the TOS Constitution. Ouch. I should have ordered my DDE from Gamestop, though at the time, I didn't see that they had it. I should have searched. *kicks self*
*applause for Cryptic*
Yeah, the Off Duty clothing does leave a lot to be desired. I wish they would just let that be a secondary "clothing" slot and we can wear whatever we want. They only give us two (three w/fleet) outfits, I'd love to have more. Even if we have to buy them at the C-Store.
Oh and Heck Yeah we need some kilts up in this join! I bought the Amazon CE, and got the Gamestop CE for my Dad (for Christmas). Both items cost the same amount. I got the Borg BO, he got the Connie. We were delighted that we'd be able to match up, little did we know he was only going to have to spend $3 ($6 total if he wants Kling Borg BO too later) and I had to spend $10. Lopsided, but I don't really mind so much.
Clearly Cryptic knows what their fans want the most and which item they'd get the highest profit on. Heh.
A lot of people voiced concerns that with this C-Store update, sector space would be swarming with TOS connies.
But because of the high price it has the TOS Connie is still a rare sight.
Also wanted to voice my thanks for making even more items available on the C-Store.
A lot of players accrued C-Points on referrals, while others bought them outright. It's good to have more variety in the C-Store, and I think all of the items added have (more or less) an appropriate value to them.
With the Account server having problems keeping up with players, it appears that these new items have been a big success. Count me as a satisfied player.
Lets just hope that sales of future promotions can be powered by your enthusiasm instead of by Cryptic's credibility.
Oh, that would be awesome. If you "unlock" a race, that races's parts (and traits!) should be available to you in the Alien Creator.
