Maybe someone could help me with this. If you registered before May 22, 2009 you received the Special Envoy title, If you registered before October 2009 you received the Ambassador title.
Ambassador: A diplomatic agent of the highest rank accredited to a foreign government or sovereign state.
Envoy: A diplomatic agent given full authority to act as representative assigned to a foreign embassy, ranking next below the ambassador.
Not making a big deal about this but wouldn't it be the other way around? Why give a lower ranking title to someone that has been on the forums longer?
To be honest, I hadn't thought of it like that until I read your post. I think it's more the fact that the title '(Federation) Special Envoy' was only used once (as far as I can recall), when Spock was introduced at the briefing (in STVI).
(Of course, Special Envoy may have been used other times in Trek; I just can't recall another instance it was used. It wouldn't be the first (nor last) time my memory has failed me, heh.)
