No. I have no chance to get it.
I have no friends left who are interested in Trek, or MMOs, or have a suitable PC for STO.
I will not be a salesman. I will not in good conscience recommend a game I barely play due to a critical lack of content. It is impossible for me, and for a lot of others, so please stop patronizing us.

yea i have to agree, ive been here since open beta + headstart and i just dont play the game. Put on top of that the only new ships to be added have been added to the C-store to try and TRIBBLE you over that little bit more but then they add the Galaxy X to some stupid referal system so that cryptic will get the players trying to push a poorly run game.
If things dont change soon i will prolly be leaving sto for a good while. Such a shame since i really love STO but totaly hate what cryptic are doing with it.

I don't disagree with this view point I could probably swing the offer by myself, but to get others to play, I do not chase a carrot on stick. I stand behind not taking the Trek out of Star Trek with a bunch of exclusives, just make a better game.
Why should we waste our time chasing recruits rather than actually spend time playing the game?
Or maybe this is Cryptics new strategy.... have people waste so much of their sub time out of game so that they progress very slowly and are forced to continue to sub to get anywhere.
I dont really like the Galaxy X , i think it looks terrible but ive no friends who like trek left , ones who do left after seeing sector space and instancing. So im left with the fact ill never have it and im not paying anymore on C-Store for content when the time and effort should be spent adding stuff to the game thats shallow enough.
I have to ask to all those who said they barely play then why do you care about the ship
Maybe if, you know, they added stuff like the Galaxy X as in game earnable content through a mission or series of missions we'd play more because *gasp* there'd be stuff to do.
Where were you when they were handing out $300 LTS accounts for Art and Story contests? I never heard any public outcry like "I can't draw" or "I can't write" back then, so why now?

Maybe because an LTS does not affect the actual gameplay?

Exactly. If it were just a skin... take it my way. I like the Galaxy X, I hate exclusives and I'd be ****ed anyway, but it could go with it.
But the way the Galaxy X is designed is Gamebreaking; a cloak, a super-canon... The god-mode-ship.
I will leave EVERY pvp game that thing appears in at once by heading to the sector border, on Klingon AND Fed side, and i know, a lot of people I talked to will do the same.
God-mode is unlikely, but game balance altering, certainly.
I can't think of a single MMO that has gone this far with a new game altering mechanic. It would be like Blizzard making Death Knights exclusive to their referral program.
as far as i have seen in most games making some people special due to a Referral rewards only alienates people and makes them not want to play the game. Couple that with the c-store that most of the new ship content has been channelled in to, makes most people feel that cryptic cares more about making the C-store and referral program work rather than adding fun new content to there game and getting people that way.
For me all this has done is p*** me off and i have not played in about a week. Its as if paying them a subscription is just not enough you must spend money on cryptic points and spend your time outside of game trying to get people to play a game with no endgame content other than a few annoying STF's and really repetetive exploration missions, as well as a subscription. If this was anything else but star trek i would have gone long ago.. but the carrot of vet rewards and walking arround inside my ship is all that is keeping me here atm.
I realize that most will find fault in all i have said and i can see what u mean but this is just how i feel
Keep it as an exclusive reward from the RAF program - No.
The suggested fix to this was easy, make the RAF Program reward contain all / Some of the Pre-order bonus items thus the benefit of referring a friend is getting them ALL FREE. Incidentally, this promotes those referrers to PLAY with their friends since those Pre-order items are meant for early levels.
Thus it makes the early game more interesting and they can go and level a new character with their referrals. Thus better gameplay for all rather than... oh look shilling like crazy for referals who people have no intention of helping beyond getting what they want out of it.
Thats REALLY classy and sure to send a good message to new players when the moment they get into STO.
As for the rest of us that wont or cant use the referal program, put the items on the C-Store so we can get them.
I think I'm just going to start believing all the people who are so down on their own abilities that they insist on labeling anyone who achieves their goals with insults. Maybe I'll name my X after one of the more vocal malcontents and start organizing "Galaxy X only" events. I mean, if I'm going to suffer through the never ending name calling and bashing, I may as well reap some benefits by actually becoming the elitist snob these posters have decided to name us.
Have your damn Galaxy X. Seriously.
But get your hands out of my pockets.
Exclusive reward for rare effort and dedication. Period.
give them the X, give me something equally cool the 5 people who wont stop posting continuously about how its the achiever's fault they cant achieve can have the thing that will silence them once and for all.
The reward itself is the trouble. Give me something else, something they cant have, and something they don't want, but we do. Figure it out, I'm tired of this tantrum protest.
I think they should just put it on the cryptic Store and make it expensive. Then there is an alternative to refer a friend. Even if it is expensive to do everyone has the ability to purchase it.
LOL my friends that are interested in Star Trek Online have played it and moved on for the time being. I've been here since CB, OB, Head Start, and have up to 6 months paid subscription. The Galaxy refit shouldn't be kept just for the RAF.
What Cryptic can do is give the Galaxy refit free to people that get 5 people to sub to the game and also offer it in the C-Store for the rest of us that have ALREADY got our friends and family to play way before cryptic started the referral program.
how many will be willing to pay $225 for it thats the equivalant of 5 accounts
If they release the ship with the cloak, and it is the only way to get the cloak, that is how I plan on getting it. I don't solicit people, let alone my own friends. I will give away the copies (to friends) and pay for them to have one month sub. Of course they will grow bored quickly, unless some major revamps are in store (and not the C-store).
Anyways, I would pay the 225 for the cloak, I want to be able to have game-play advantage like the people who solicit!
i know 225 is insane but thats how much cryptic makes off each ship they give for the raf it's funny i keep pointing out that there isn't a time limit at least not yet but yet all i keep seeing is people who want an easier way to get it if cryptic caves on this then noone will ever bother with their promos again cuz if whine they will cave so why work for anything

I have never once said there needs to be an "easier way". All I have said is that I disagree with them giving the ship a cloak, when no other federation ship can cloak. That is giving a playing advantage to folks, that isn't kosher (IMO of course.)
I agree with them releasing the X as a promo item. I agree with them putting the X as the RAF promo item. I do NOT agree with them giving RAF folks a gameplay advantage, and that only involves the "maybe" cloak.
So yes, you guys that have gotten the 5 referrals, I agree your ship should remain yours. Will it? Hard to say, look at the "Lifers only" starbase. Now, can you guys give a little and at least admit that the cloak is a little underhanded? Maybe not, maybe you truly believe that people with more "means" deserve a better game...(CLOAK ONLY, not ship)
again the cloak has not been confirmed yet dstahl said it was a rumour
Correct.
I was just pointing out that not all of us are crying foul about the ship
You guys deserve a reward for your efforts, all I have a beef with is the cloak. And as you pointed out, 'tis a rumor. Hence why I am waiting to see what happens
Again, not all of us think you guys are evil nasties for getting referrals. Some of us just want to make sure the game stays equal (Again, ignoring PvP and Klingon, those are just big messes right now.)
Providing items which affect gameplay by any means other than in-game puts STO squarely in the Runescape and F2P calibre of games. The gangrene in STO has certainly taken hold.
But then again, it's a game based on a TV show ... what did we expect?
Future Cryptic titles:
Gilligan's Island online ... for 500 C-Store credits you get the plans to the seashell radio.
The Munsters Online ... refer 50 suckers and get the hearse dragster.
Bevery Hillbillies Online ... put a Cryptic sign on your lawn and get the exclusive double barrelled possum gun!

Actually, that would be better compared to this:
GIO: Extend your game play to a full 3 hour tour! Only 500 points in the C-Store!
tMO: RAF has been started! Refer 50 friends and get a COLOR Herman that can scare away NPC's just by stomping his feet!
BHO: Special event "Come on back now, ya hear?" weekend! Previous players can rehash the good times this weekend, if you re-subscribe you will get a new costume piece: "Shoeless feet"
Sorry, just wanted to make sure the "prizes" matched the current ones.
TaEASGJO: Order a large drink at "Nowhere near you!®" and get a limited edition Chippy and Rascal set!
(I forgot about the Del Taco promo )

not paying 15$ for those each month. thank you.
