I have to admit trying to determine what defines Lotus Fleet with only 3 categories was rather difficult ...and one of the first questions I had to answer for myself was what does this category mean and is it asking us to define us in general or how we are in STO, because there is a huge difference for us.
For example is Lotus Fleet out of STO a Roleplaying Fleet. Yes, but that does not represent the majority of our member base....instead it is only one element in which we cater to a group of individuals who like to RP. However do we RP in STO...NO, some people may but that does not make up the whole of the Fleet.
Another Example is are we a PvP Fleet in game....I would have to say NO, because that is not a Fleet wide focus, but rather Lotus Fleet has Hazard Teams (groups of people) that specialize in PVP within both factions, and we manage accordingly so that our PvP teams can represent Louts Fleet well, same goes for resources gathering and crafting.
Now as far as Timezones are concerned, Lotus Fleet has developed a process in which we have leadership and individuals in leadership roles that places them online and in game during peak times for each of the major time zones...if we receive a member that is outside of one of the major timezones then we place them within one that is closest and allows for overlap so that their needs are met just like all others...as a result we are and have members from all time zones allowing us to remain active 24/7 365 with full support to our members regardless as to when or where they live.
So above I have given the categories that I feel best represent Lotus Fleet, but should be viewed as being very loose as they do not represent wholly what we are about. Lotus Fleet has a little bit for everyone and we do it quite well, with good dedicated members that we love to support. My Command Staff is among the best and most dedicated and we have and always will go out of our way to do what is best for the whole of the Fleet, while not forgetting about the individual need.....So does that not make us a Casual-Friendly Fleet....I guess so in game and out of game.

I'll get you added to the list here shortly Nova Truthfully the goal of the categories is to help people who are looking for fleets - people come to the game saying "I want a fleet that does a lot of roleplaying", or "I want a fleet that focuses on PvP". It's basically a starting point though, because every fleet is different, and the onus is still on the individual to find the fleet that's right for them. This is just kind of giving them a head start.
The main reason I ask for three categories (I think of them as "top three", myself) is to help make sure every fleet out there has a fair shot at getting noticed for the things that most define them. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. But it does help. And hopefully when we get an in-game fleet finder tool, the responses in this thread will help guide the developers in how they set it up
