I've always had such a crush on Spock... both in the original series and in the reboot movie.
Never was a big Kirk fan, until the reboot series.

And of course, there's Data in TNG... He's just so damn adorable in his personality. the fact that he's ten times more intelligent than the regular man doesn't hurt neither. ;)

For DS9 I've always been found of the Doctor stationed there. Ahh, Julian Bashir.

    Enterprise had Trip and archer...

Voyager didn't have a lot of hot males... but I did like Kim harry and Tom Paris.

I would be interested in hearing a TRIBBLE man's opinion of male characters, and their reasoning. TRIBBLE men usually can weed thru the BS and give some real insight on what is hot and what is a turnoff about people. I don't really have an opinion of the men, but yeah right that costume on 7 of 9 , or better yet I like to call her "32 of D" made voyager worth watching. I cant even tell you about a single episode, but I never missed one.

Picard is intelligent, well spoken, presentable and in fine physical condition. I imagine that those are important traits. Also I imagine him to be punctual and reliable as well. And he also shows that he has a tender side as well. See Inner Light etc. I imagine his classical education (quoting Shakespeare especially) may attract the more mature audience. Long summer evenings, picnics in the orchard, very Pride and Prejudice. He's also a very powerful person, despite his stature. He is phyiscally imposing and very forceful vocally. Great projection. He'd be my pick for certain. Hope my wife doesnt see this, she'll get completely the wrong idea.

    Edit: The more I think about it, the more I think that he is the person (character) I would most like to be compared to/ be like;

Conviction to live by a moral code. An aversion to violence but a willingness to kill in defense of one's family. A constant desire for betterment, the realisation that no matter how much you know there is always more to learn. A fondness for the past and an understanding that it affects our present and future. A love of music. A skilled diplomat, able to resolve situations through reasoned argument.

I'd say that these are some of the things that I identify with most strongly. And I think these are some of the things that most attracted my wife to me, as we fell in love without having met.

It's just a shame I'm fat and ugly really.

I dont know how "fake" it is. He was born in Russia to Russian parents, so i'm guessing he's heard the accent all his life even though he grew up in the US. I think he's a fine actor though, very impressed with his performance in Criminal Minds.

As a hetro male, I will approach this in the vein of "If I could choose which of the Star trek actors I would want to look like". It is a game I am happy with, and I could say hands down that if I could have Hugh Jackmans looks and body I would be a very happy male.

Now onto the subject. I dont think its fair to choose the new film as this has all the hollywood gloss and the properly chosen actors... then I realise something..... there is not a single male in Star Trek who I think is attractive,... or who I would want to be even the new film.. women really get a **** poor choice

Star Trek the 2009 movie - hmmmmm.... Kirk too boyish, Bones - nah, Spock - too wierd looking and wimpy, Sulu... best of a bad bunch I suppose.

Enterprise - At a push, Jonathan Archer for looks, or Travis Mayweather for body ~(he has a well chiselled physique)

TNG - Um.... well... err.. noone actually

ToS - Kirk was certainly handsome and in reasonable shape, but I would not like to be him

DS9 - Sisqo looked damned good bald

    Voyager - Noone

So overall... I suspect the hottest male character is.... um.... at a push... Travis with Sisqo a close second

However out of the women, I will be purile... its SOOO easy, T'Pol all the way! Puts all the others to absolute shame

Hmm, so far no-one has said me. Oh well. Okona is an interesting choice. A bit of a cliche though isnt he? Not exactly a three dimensional character. I assume he's the sort of man that women find fun to look at but wouldnt be that interested in?

Good choice. Deep and intriguing personality. Deep voice. Deep eyes. Also a bit shy. Love the way he stays so calm when dealing with Wynn. God I was always wanting someone to slap her.

Yup, Yelchin's accent is "real" in the sense that he knows what it really sounds like. There was some debate during preproduction about whether he would carry on with Koenig's replacing V's with W's as at least one producer and Yelchin thought that sounded Polish, not Russian. In the end they decided to go with it, so it's still fake :)

Some years back, he played the son of a Russian ambassador in a Morgan Freeman thriller (Along Came a Spider, I think), and he was only 18 when he played Chekov. I mention this because it make him 14 or 15 when he made Charlie Bartlett. In that one he comes across as an older kid playing someone younger, when it was closer to the opposite.

    Main Characters:

TOS: Kirk. Bill Shatner was actually really, really buff for back in the day. And I trust my grandma when she tells me he was the hottest man she'd ever met.

TNG: Oddly, no one from the main cast ever struck me as terribly attractive. They all have galring flaws that I'm certain I would find unattractive in a partner were I a woman or predisposed towards men.
Picard :dislikes kids, puts career before family
    Riker: Dumped Troi for career
Data: emotionally unavailable (for most of the shows/movies)
    Geordi: romantically akward
    Worf: I'm not into S&M
    Wesley: I'm not a pedo

    DS9: Bashir, he's just hot

Voyager: Chakotay. Reminds me of my dad, which as I understand it is a large factor in attractiveness amongst women who had good relationships with their fathers.

Reboot: McCoy. Its Karl Urban for god's sake. Actually, from top to bottom you really can't go wrong here. Even Spock was sensual and traditionally sexy (as opposed to Nimoy who was more an "Exotic" attractive).

    Guest stars/bit characters:
Khan: That was Ricardo Mantalban's real chest in Wrath of Khan. I hop I'm in that good of shape at that age.
    Rivas
Don't know about "hot" but Garak is Garak. And there was always something about Dukat that implied an underlying sensuality. I know cardassian women were hot, so I'll assume the men were equally intruguing.

Forgot: Enterprise. Another show full of eye candy. Only main character I'd discount would be Archer. Yep even Dr Phlox is more attractive than Cpt. "I wear a constant grimace that makes it look like I'm constipated" Archer.

    http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=voyager+engineering+vulcan says Vorik

I'd have a bro-mance with Bashir, but it wouldn't be reciprocated likely (he loves O'brien more :D) - he likes playing darts - nuff said

Really? The one who tried to pon'farr TRIBBLE Tores? Vorik That sort of thing usually turns folks off. Though I suppose the concept of someone just no being able to control their attraction to you could be an interesting proposition.

So did he. (But by the third TNG movie, 'Insurrection'.)

I notice just about everyone who has posted has gravitated toward one or two of a list of particular traits:
    -swagger (e.g., Okona)
    -charming (e.g., Bashir)
    -thoughtful (e.g., Picard)
    -powerful (e.g., Sisko)

It's interesting that no one said Miles O'Brien yet. If I were to have a Scrubs-esque 'bromance' with anyone, it would probably be the Chief. He just seems like the perfect, most understanding, most loyal best friend forever.

Of course, I would probably have to kill Bashir for that spot. :D
