Lol... the server always goes down for 2 hours, no matter whether it is unexpected or scheduled. I guess the solution is pretty easy: today, because the server went down at exactly 12:00, it was a mistakenly created server-job shutting down.
On the other days, the developer missed the "log off" button on terminal server and clicked "shut down". The project leader then needs 2 hours to get into the office and he is the only one knowing the Bitlocker password to boot up the machine.

Anyone know if the new 196.21 nVidia drivers would improve the performance on a GTX260 (216 core)?

I seem to have to run this game on lower settings than I'm used to for smooth performance.

These forum threads are a ton of fun. I work public transit for a living, and some of these people are funnier to watch than real life crazies (And trust me, I see a lot. One guy pooped on my bus' floor)

The problem that I see with this and all the other issues that have been going on with server stability, the inability to log into the game when the server is up, and other things, are really making this early start not so special. I have literally only been able to play for about 2 hours since the launch. Part of it is because of real life but mostly it has been my inability to log in. It took me hours to create my first character because it kept crashing during creation which I bugged. Once i was in the game, going from zone to zone would crash the client. Not when this will be addressed and now the server has been down for about 2 hours.

How are they planning on "compensating us" for our patience that they continually ask us to have while they work on the problems that are happening? The early start is supposed to be our reward for preordering the game and right now, it seems more of a hassle than a reward sitting here at the computer watching the news to see when we can try and log back in. Also I am sure the log in servers will be flooded with requests which will present a whole other set of issues.

I for one feel that at the rate things are going, this head start will not end up giving us much of one if the servers are down more than they are up.

This thread is almost as entertaining as the game itself. I am doing as much button mashing now as in game just to keep up with the posts.

Shut up breeder I know there's no Pam Anderson for your virgin self to drool over but deal with it anyway.

Oh, so I make a TRIBBLE reference, and that gives you the green light to bash straight people. It's not my fault your Dad hit you.

I purchased the lifetime, so what happens to my 30 days that comes with the game? Do I get to keep playing for a month after I die?

They should give you credit for 1 month purchase ie 15 bucks in the cryptics store :D

Am I the only one who thinks the dell taco shuttle is totally lame? im going at max speed (but not full impulse, just max normal speed) and the little thing speeds up to catch up with you, stops...then lags behind and then catches up with you again? They should make its speed scale with the players so it at least doesnt look so ridiculously stupid.

Ok I await your coding on how you would approach this problem, heavily commented and correctly syntaxed. I look forward to hearing how you are going to use your expertise in this situation.

Sort of gives you an idea how common this sort of thing is that I just tried to log into Global Agenda (which is also running a pre-order head start event right now) and they, too, are having issues. Even more frequent downtime than STO, apparently.

Feature request for the developers: A "work offline" mode, so that we can keep ourselves entertained when the server is down :D
