Extremely long load times

    i'm stuck on 'retrieving list of characters...' :mad:

    Its not just character loading. Loading into systems or sector can take several minutes... :(

    Yeah its a bummer as we all wanted to beat the rush hour of new users before it goes retail.

    I am always amazed at the number of people who do not commit to a game - reservations etc. Then later on the release date they are running around like a fast moving zombie "Hey you got that game that just came out??" Retail person ' "No we sold out already... did you reserve? All we have left are the reservations." Zombie customer - "Grrrgggrrrllll" stumbles out the door.

    I guess there extra server is a P2 1GHz with sketchy RAM

    I just had close the game because the loading screen basically stopped.
    The last few were getting longer and longer. Guessing server issue?

    At least I had time to read the tips.

    Zoning into regulus sector block took me somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes (I didn't check the clock)

    Same. After having to download the game *three times* to get it to install - Impulse really let me down on this one - and now this, my "head start weekend" is rapidly passing me by and I haven't even created a character yet.

    Yep. The loading stopped when I was trying to get to Sirius, then I closed out and now... Retrieving List of Characters...

    I havent had any lag at all but I got kicked off the sever after a really long load time and now I cant log back in. Invalid username message. I feel a little downtime coming. Great so far guys.

    Yup powerlevels of the server core have dropped below zero.
    nothing is loading anyomore

    I have also been experiencing the game hanging on loading, or taking an extremely long time to load. Doesn't happen on every map change, and it's not consistently the same ones. Starting to get on my nerves though.

    Ah, huzzah for MMO launch week. I was staring at the "Retrieving Character List" screen for a good five minutes before I finally just exited out.

    I'm also getting this problem. It got stuck loading starbase 24 so I closed the game and now it gets stuck on retrieving character list.

    Same, ridiculously long load times. They took 30 seconds in closed beta, now they're taking 5+ minutes for the same missions.

    Edit: Waiting for this made me yearn for some shatner, I've taken to watching Boston Legal during load times. Couldn't have made a better choice XD
