    Plenty of interesting events available for our members this week. There are also many excellent community written news articles available.

    Now is an excellent time to apply, as our community is undergoing many unique and engaging changes.

    Just to want to say a big thanks to everyone that took part in the First Contact Day themed events as well as all the themed events taking place on the Friday and the Sunday, especially those that ran events and activities for the benefit of other members!

    Whilst I am thanking people I would also like to say thanks to all of the members that attended the New Member Welcome Session held on Saturday. It really is great to see so many members taking the time to make new members feel welcome and giving them advice on how to get the very best from their time in our community.

    It sure will be and I believe at some point on Tuesday the winner of the latest Short Story competition will be announced as part of a round up and review of the competition.

    Definitely a piece of headline news right there.

    I do love the UFP News service, there are some brilliant community driven articles and debates. One of the most exciting aspects of the community at the moment!

    See, we're so diverse that Children can become the head of a department according to some people! :)

    Also, it's Tuesday here already.

    The Dominion War event for this Thursday is looking pretty good, I think I'll still be at work then but if I get early I will certainly try to attend. I do love it when event staff create unique events and wrap a bit of a story around them.

    Indeed Chris, themed PvP events often allow us to use ships that we might otherwise just leave docked at the shipyard, there is also a Temporal one coming up on Saturday as well :)

    What day is it? That's right it's STF Wednesday!

    Take part in hosted STF runs for all of the ground and space STF missions. These events are perfect if you have characters in need of Omega rep, want to try out new builds or if you are yet to experience or simply want to brush up on STO's endgame content.

    The schedule for our remaining celebration events of 2014 has now been announced. Since their introduction these events have served to bring our diverse community together to celebrate some of the unique aspects of Star Trek and Gene Roddenberry's vision for the future.

    Hope some of our other members in the northern hemisphere made sure to go stargazing last night! It's not often you can see Mars this clearly, after all! No worries if not though, Mars should be bright and visible all this week.

    On Monday we have a 'Bridge Commander Night'. The UFP caters to more than just STO players, we provide a good bit of variety.

    However, for those who are interested in STO events we have many to choose from here!

    Also, congratulations to Three of Seven for winning the short story competition!

    Indeed, we also support non-trek games like Minecraft!
