Why was this only shared the morning of? Moreover, if my timezone conversion is correct, this announcement was made nearly an hour into the maintenance period. This is entirely foreseeable maintenance, so why could we not even get 12 hours' notice? I know there wasn't any notice in the launcher before I went to bed last night.

Maintenance was announced at around 2am pacific on X (Twitter). However no one posts on here anymore. @baddmoonrizin is a volunteer mod who is not a paid employee and out of her goodness posts all relevant blogs etc as and when she becomes available. She is the one who keeps us updated.

Why are you just creating your profile and joining the forum minutes before posting this? Sockpuppet much?

Not only did the blog and tweet go out at 2am, when I was asleep, I didn't receive the Twitter notification until minutes before I posted it here. So, the information was made available here as soon as I was aware of it.

So new ESD launched earlier than I expected. Nice. I was honestly thinking we'd get it with the Anniversary update.

No issue patching for me. I suggest clearing all your cache. Restarting your router to see if that improves things or better still rectifies things. Where are you based?

Not gonna lie seeing it did choke me up knowing this is Nicks final gift to us, and as well as other stuff which you know about.

ESD looks great but I'm gonna have to wait until the inevitable emergency patch for this patch.

Unless I select on-demand patching in the launcher options, the patching progress permanently freezes.
And once in-game, all traits are reset and a few random ones are slotted, and using loadouts doesn't fix it.
In Quinn's office, I saw an Avenger fly by and getting tailed (as in getting its nacelles nommed) by a Pathfinder.

best do a support post here in relation to the launcher and on demand patching and post in the current thread re loadouts. As for the pathfinder maybe it was hungry LOL.

And now we all all get to reslot everything on every toon we have. Thanks. This is why no one used to touch the oldest maps. They are booby trapped. Maybe let the new DECA employees know this, if you touche the core maps oddness happens.

i called a friend, we are on skype since 32minutes, he dont have my router, or my cache, and after 31minutes he's at 14% of patching process....

we are french, and we have the optical fiber... my friend in paris and me in auvergne (just in case you could think we are on the same town) and we dont have the same internet provider.

I just created it because I have not had reason to use the forums before. However the Arc account this forum profile is tied to has an extensive play history, and making unsubstantiated claims of sockpuppeteering is highly inappropriate, especially for a community volunteer who should be an example to the rest of us.

That said, let me be clear, my frustration is not with you specifically, it's the announcement timing at large. I admit I mistook the timing of the forum post with the timing of the original announcement, and that is my mistake. My point however still stands that the timing of the original announcement and subsequent maintenance is still obscenely short notice. There's no reason they could not have given us a full day's notice at the least.

I'm also more frustrated with this than I normally would be because I'm in the middle of a move, trying to keep up progress on the ongoing Red Alert event, and have to plan out when I'm able to make that progress in advance. Having all relevant news on the issue dropped when the playerbase at large is asleep throws a massive wrench in the works (though a different wrench was thrown in the move now so it all works out in total, but when I posted originally I didn't know that yet).

Attention, Captains! We are aware of problems with loadouts and traits after today's maintenance and we're looking into it. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

In @baddmoonrizin defence ALL information is posted on X (Twitter) first. I suggest looking on there first on foremost. You don't need an account to see posts on the STO page. As those in paid employ at STO DO NOT post on the forum now (even though it does say on the launcher to check the forum) @baddmoonrizin ALWAYS goes out of her way to ensure the blogs etc reach the player base here. @baddmoonrizin is committed to this player base and should be commended as with all the mods. For myself I have been a member of this community since almost day one and I have never seen a more committed group of mods as we have now. We were NOT and have never been given short notice in relation to maintenance. Emergency maintenance yes. but NEVER when there is scheduled maintenance that either happens on a Tuesday or primarily on a Thursday.

It is time now for you to make it possible to store the traits' loadouts locally on our computers. Sure it does not fix the problem but neither are your patches, but such a function would at least mitigate years of this happening in the game. Either like now, from a rough patch or by simply switching ships while playing or running a mission where the mission switches the ship out for you during the mission. So pretty please with sugar on top, start working on a locally stored loadout file (encrypt it if necessary). People with 20 characters and hundreds of unlocked traits who have finetuned them on each character for the ship they use are actively talking about not playing any more. Any reasonable company do plan with every upgrade/patch to have a rollback option. If you don't then that's terrifying seeing on how often things go terribly wrong when you do these things. It's time to do a rollback, give everyone ample warning to try and screenshot all their traits at least. Then work on fixing the patch before you do it again.

No fixed loadouts - NO GAME PLAY - I wont fix every character till the loadouts are loading once again and saving cause i know the likelyhood is there all gonna dissapear AGAIN once its fixed and I will have to redo everyone again.
