Changing Ship (sometimes) gets stuck in a loading screen that never ends.

I've only had this twice now (altough the 1st time I actually did it twice in a row for a test), but I'm starting to suspect its either related to the gamma quadrent or more precisely the mission Home.
Upon changing ship, the new ship loads in and appears after the 1st brief load screen, but then a 2nd load screen appears that starts at around 70% and loads painfully slowly and even makes backwards progress as it nears the upper 90's never actually reaching 100% (before my patience runs out), the only escape is to alt+f4, after reloading all is as it should be with the new ship, maybe a console out of place but I can't keep track of these things at all times.
