Extended maintenance on last day of event?

I'm not 100% certain, because some events end at 3pm Eastern on a Thursday, and some end at 1pm Eastern on a Tuesday, and some seem to end at Cryptics whim... but isn't today the last day of the Feast Event?

If so, it seems like having extended maintenance time that wipes out most of the last day of the event was incredibly poor timing. Still hoping to get on in time for the last run that I need, but looking less likely by the minute.

    Its also going to be Day One of the Winter Event today.

    Events often do not come back after maintenance on the last day, so it's best to assume they end with the start of maintenance.

    Luckily for you a 1 day buyout shouldn't be too expensive, or if you've finished then the loss of dil isn't that bad.

    Actually the 1 day needed is to complete the annual campaign, which had increased requirements this year to match the increased rewards. It's been a busy few weeks so only got 5 days in on this event so far which wasn't enough to wrap up the campaign.

    As to "events don't come back up after maint", actually in the past they do and I've completed them after maint. They generally run until the 1pm or 3pm end time (usually, there have been a few early endings, which is why the 'whim' part is in the OP).

    Servers coming back up and looks like this one is timed to end at 3pm though, so there's still a chance for myself and others to get a final run in. Go go Cryptic hamsters!

    Due to life, I missed the beginning of the last phase by about a week, so no chance for me. :disappointed: Maybe somebody will send me money for Christmas instead of stuff I can't use, the way I keep asking them, and I can buy it that way... :smirk:

    It happens. You shouldn't really plan for running events that finish on maintenance day (which they do 99% of the time) after maintenance because often they have ended by the time the server comes back up. Cryptic gives extra days to account for this very fact, otherwise events would be shorter.

    As for today, there were technical issues which extended maintenance, so it wasn't poor planning.

    I said "events * often * do not come back after maintenance" not that they never do. Sometimes they do, often they do not.

    It's true this campaign raised the requirement from 70 days to 84, but it also increased the extra days from 35 to 42 extra days. Gambling on the last day of the last event is pushing your luck. Stuff happens, my internet was out for a day and half after the "bomb cyclone" knocked out power and internet in the area.

    Anyway, buying out the this event should give you both the event reward and 2 days campaign progress given you've only done 5 days.
