I'll have to replay a mission to see if my hunch was correct.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Yes it was. But we're talking about a different artifact. One that originates from a novel. Ever hear about the TNG novel The Devil's Heart?

That was my first thought when reading the the blog. It definitely sounded to me that the person who wrote it was inspired by the novel.
Think it was mentioned that the Iconians called it the Dream Gem in that novel, which got name checked by L'Miren. So likely yes.
