odd weapon model changes?

While playing, I have noticed that my weapon sometimes changes into some other gray-colored gun, not sure what kind it is, but it will work just like my actual equipped one.

I was wondering if anyone else has ever had this happen to them, and what weapon its visually changed into?

    Can you provide screenshots?
