Spewing toxic sludge from a Macrovirus Array sounds like a lot of fun

Thematically, that would fit one of my toons.
Resident TOS, G.I. Joe, Transformers and hair metal fangirl.

I'd have to get my hands on it, however it sounds like something similar to the Tholian Drone module we got a while ago. Spawns a combat pet, and has an activatable ability.
Toxic damage is probably going to be pretty niche, and certainly not META, but... fun is its own meta. I got three elemental based characters myself and I sure as hell don't follow metas.

Even if its not a game changer, it can be useful for leveling up characters or just having fun in general. Also I don't really know of many sources of Toxic damage. Only one I can think of off the top of my head is Torg's Dishonored Bat'leth I believe deals some Toxic damage.

Many events offer rewards that don't fit your main captain and their current build.

The thing to remember is that not everyone is you. For every 10 ships there might be 8-9 that are not for you, but someone else has been waiting eagerly for them to be released.

Some people chase the max DPS, max space magic damage, best possible torp boat build, etc. and they don't care what the ship or visual effects look like.

Some of us like to play with new toys just because they are different.

Some of us are into Space Barbie with theme builds and theme captains where the look is most important and DPS just needs to be the best that's possible within the theme.

I'm not sure which was worse, the 2 episodes of Fonzie jumping over a shark, or Joanie Loves Chachi as a whole. And who in their right mind water-ski's with a leather jacket on?

Oh, we're talking about an event reward... Sorry.

It's a good thing events are optional and you are not forced to do it.

I usually do them regardless of my desire for the item instead of voicing my personal opinion about a free item that I may be able to use on a theme build now or later on. The extra Dil is a nice bonus as well.

Lets be honest here, the event campaign reward and extra Dil is really what the majority of people are doing the event for, not the macrovirus module.

I don't know. It could be fun to engage in some biological warfare.

Toxic is one of those almost forgotten damage types which has the potential to devastate certain foes.
I run a toxic build on a few characters and this module would fit the unconventional style.

Downside is that one of the main foes on ground resists toxic so this module is not a one size fits all solution.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Honestly "One size fits all" solutions are boring, once you find that solution there's not really any reason to experiment or try something new.

That being said, the current story line foes are borg variants and mechanical foes so a poison based kit module will most likely not shine in the current/upcoming content.

Consider this, a borg may not be able to adapt to poison :) If so you now have a weapon of choice to fight the borg with.
Depends if the kit module was written for the borg to be able to defend against, something that will have to be tried to find out.
Remember, they were not able to adapt to projectile weapons cause they are not energy :) I would think same goes with poisions.

On the other hand, Borg Nanoprobes or even Borg tech may inhibit any toxic damage because of their cybernetic nature. We don't know.

    Yeah, we don't know.
I recalled that the Borg traits resisted poison, but i cannot confirm that in the wiki.
One thing which is for sure is that the Borg tend to have a very high resistance to abnormal effects and in testing with Toxin darts and the toxic bat'leth i have not seen Toxic activate on Defera.

It was a quick test though so my data may be flawed.

Edit: Had some time to do additional testing.
Testing toxic damage is tricky since there are few weapons which use it as a primary damage type.

The Borg are not immune to toxic, but they do adapt to it.
Observing flanking and critical toxic hits was interesting.

    Will do some additional testing.

Borg appear to adapt to primary toxic damage, but their adaption does not work for toxic proc.

HurQ appear to take reduced damage from toxic.
