...to me it seems so. I know from the past that it always was a pain in the but to even find the very first mission, but these days to me it seems impossible. I fly around in the Alpha Quadrant like a headless chicken for a while now, but nothing shows up. Hints and clues from the past are obsolete of course because the locations change. So does anyone please have a hint where to find it these days? If not, I will declare it a lost cause and won't waste anymore time with it.

I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

Ah. DOff assignments.
According to the wiki itself it looks like the first assignment has been bouncing around, with the most recent reporting putting it up in a corner of the Breen Sector.

Thank you both Yes, this site was my first go-to. I looked up every location mentioned there, more than once, including the last one in the Breen sector, but nothing showed up.

You might need to try more than once to catch when RNG decides to spawn it.

Yea that is another factor. RNG decides what DOff assignments come up. One day I can get a full 20 Assignments full of Diplomacy depending on where I go, other days... I come up short. It all depends on what is available at the time I check.

Another thing is hitting a sector border at the right place. That also can trigger that. It is a leftover from when we had the sector block system but never went away during the sector space revamp. Also, look under assignment heads for more DOFF missions and not just the main map.
And yes, Doff missions get renewed even when passing a border at a slightly different point - or even at a different angle. Keep your Doff mission screen open while passing, as the missions might renew up to two times (i.e., giving you three different sets of missions) while crossing just one border.
Thank you all, but I know that DOFF missions under assignment heads change too, but this isn't relevant for this one. The first Chrysalis mission only appears under "Trade" in the actual map screen. Well I wrote it off, if it pops up coincidently so be it.

If you happen to have one of the freighter ships (Tuffli/Koboyashi Maru/Tong'duj) you can use the Freighter Bridge which has a Trade DOff Contact that does offer missions based off of current ship location. Combine that with the Sector Border Trick and you increase your odds of finding the first Chrysalis mission and that one Ghosts of the Jem'Hadar mission. You do have to visit your bridge a lot though.

Thanks for the tip, I'll keep it in mind, I have all three ships. But for now again it proved true that, if you search for something different, you stumble upon what you already gave up to. Just found #1 of Project Crysalis in the bottom right corner of the Cardassian sector, where Bajoran, Dubhe and Algira sectors meet (after crossing the border from Algira) And, as coincidence demands, I also found #5 of the Ghosts of the Jem'Hadar, in the top right corner of the Arawath sector (after crossing the border from the Cardassian sector).
