i started my fleet in 2012 and have completed all holdings it is now 2024 and it seems fleets have been forgotten there seems to be no plans to do anymore with them which is a shame when you think of all the work people have put in to them just to see them sit there and gather dust
when we first got fleets they had a incentive to join as fleets had high level equipment then what was on offer at the time but as the level cap increased equipment out side of the fleets became better which made any incentive for joining a fleet nul and void
did you build a fleet a while back is it still active and would you like to see fleets revitalised again

Yes I started two fleets back in 2012. The Fed fleet was completed in about 2019 or so and the KDF fleet a year or two after.
No, I would never undertake something like this again due to the volume of work.
Yes, it was a lot of fun and we used to do a lot of things together.
No, we are no longer "active" but given I've been playing for a long time I write this off as something possibly best left to newer fleets.
I do think that fleets still offer some key pieces of gear but I don't begrudge the devs for introducing alternatives over time for those that aren't in a fleet.
Would I like to see fleets "revitalized" ? Yes and no. Creating the system was probably one of the most expensive things (with respect to dev time) ever and at this point I'm comfortable with the experience they've provided..
I'm thinking about starting a fleet just so i don't get spammed every 10 minutes by a vampire fleet
Turn fleet invites off, then you won't get fleet requests.
If vetteguy904 is playing on console I don't believe there is a way to block fleet invites. Had to create a fleet to block getting invited myself.
PC however, does have the option to disable them. Go to the social menu (O key I believe or click the second button above the question mark button by the mini map) then the Privacy button at the bottom right. Toggle Allow fleet invitations at the bottom.

Tac vulnerability and Science EPG + CrtX consoles are still standard gear for most builds. There is also the K13 gear and boffs for TOS captains, Lukari, Kentari, Romulan boffs for everyone else, plus Fleet versions for all the 10-console C-Store ships. People also recommend some of the ship cores, engines, deflectors for some builds.
A semi-inactive fleet can still be helpful for any members that create a new character or try a different ship or build to get the gear for it.
Active fleets make sense for that and for the event calendar to schedule things like a TFO night.
The Fed fleet I'm in on PC since...2014?...is mostly inactive but we still get new members joining now and then. Most of us are older with too much else going on to be that active, so we're fine with it the way it is.

Yea. Both the Fed and KDF fleets I'm in are the same way right now. Technically speaking while one of the original Fleet Leaders still get on, I've pretty much inherited them both. I plan to keep the lights on as long as the game's going honestly. Still got people who pop in and do things, but we don't really have any scheduled events or anything. Its more contribute to fleet projects if you can, otherwise we chill. At least the Fed Fleet finally has all holdings at max tier. Just need to 100% the Colony, then its pretty much just provision projects for Fleet Credits. KDF fleet... pretty neglected since we were mostly Fed Mains.
I created my own fleet just for myself, mainly for the extra bank space at the time. Then as I had a bunch of fleetmarks etc I started to upgrade the holdings. Fleets now Level 69. Dil Mine, Embassy, K-13, Research Lab and Spire are completed. Starbase is at T4 and soon to be T5. I had intended to complete all holdings but with Colony World is T3 and so expensive its likely to stay that way unless I end up with a big stockpile of resources again.

Nice job! That must have been a lot of work. Ya the Colony is a pain in the rear.

I would advise asking your fleet to focus their Admiralty attention on the Klingon Track. If they're uncomfortable donating actual Dilithium, the 40k Fleet Vouchers from Klingon Admiraty TOD is godly. Especially if they have multiple characters in said fleet. Certainly helped my Fed fleet's Colony.

Well, the fleet consists of one member, and thats me. I don't do much Admiralty these days, got too repetitive.

You can speed things up a lot if you allow most missions to fail and just do the 1 - 10 and any ones you want with decent EC or dil rewards. I use shuttles for the throwaway missions (you can buy a bunch of shuttles cheap for EC). Also just do KDF and maybe also Ferengi if you want that dil bonus.

I do that when I play Admiralty. I'll take the time with any mission with rewards of at least 50,000 EC or 500 dil. Anything less and I throw any old low level ship at it to get to the next Tour Of Duty mission.
The main downside to fleets that I can see is that there's not a whole lot to spend fleet marks on once you get a fleet past a certain point. I'd suggest a QoL feature where you could convert the marks to fleet credits, albeit at a reduced rate, and have that NPC located on, say, the K-13 holding or something.

If your fleet has completed all it's holdings and is well provisioned there should be other projects that can be put up so you can earn fleet credits. The ones with a short cooldown located just below the starbase projects are the ones I'm thinking of. The simplest project here takes 2000 fleet marks at a 1:25 payout. Checking for open projects within an armada can also help. Excess fleet credits can be dumped into fleet combat, dilithium, or XP boosts via the Research Lab.
I don't really have an issue making fleet credits. It's the fleet MARKS I have an issue finding ways to spend. There really needs to be a way to convert those directly into fleet credits (via the 1:25 ratio), so it would end up being a useful currency sink.

That's the whole point of Armadas.
