In quest The Taureen Affair my objective is "Take the helm"
According to a 7 year old reddit post, one of the chairs in front of the captain should be vacant with an option for me to take the helm.
In my game there are two npc's at the helm with whom I cannot interact.
I'm stuck on the bridge with no way to progress my game or way to clear my objective.
Apparently this bug affected a Vulcan male and in my case an Andorian female.
I cannot change instance as the option is greyed out, pressing the triangle therefore doesn't do anything. I included a screenshot as evidence.
Logging out and back in changed the npc in the left helm position from male to female, another screenshot added as evidence. This left helm is the chair that is supposed to be empty and possible to interact with, but it's not.
I restarted the client as well and nothing changed. My character is still stuck on this mission with no way to progress.

I would appreciate if this got resolved so I can continue playing the game with my andorian instead of remaking her and picking a non-tos faction.
