"Tenebris Torquent" not Playable in Co-op Mode

My best friend and myself attempted to complete the episode "Tenebris Torquent" as a team. This episode does NOT say that it is single-player only, and our team stayed intact, but we were placed in different "map instances" of the mission and were not able to continue together. I tried having us beam back out, but it only reset our progress and didn't fix the issue, much to our frustration.
Is this some sort of bug or glitch related to the fact that the away team is supposed to get split up in the episode? There's not a lot of obvious explanations here, and it's left the both of us rather upset at the situation. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

There's definitely an oversight here. It needs labelled as single-player only.
You're probably right about the Away Team split being what's forced you into separate instances.
