Recommendation: More Hubs?

There is more often something to do in the upper Alpha Quadrant (e.g. Tzenk Battlezone). Accordingly, I think it would be good if there was a hub there, especially for selling items/generating EC, and maybe also for social activities? This also applies to the right Beta Quadrant (if you are not part of the Klingon or Federation faction)... Starbase 234 would actually be a good choice here, wouldn't it?

For upper Alpha Quadrant Dranuur seems a bit complicated to me (drive up, beam down and then trudge to the first level to sell), as does the jump or flight to DS9 including the way back if you still have something to do up there... K-13 would be a good option, especially the empty bar there just begs for it!

    Or maybe even New Romulus...?
    The Dyson Sphere?

Yes, but New Romulus and Dyson also seem a bit cumbersome to me, similar to the Dranuur path... especially for ascending characters who haven't played the Romulus or Dyson arc yet...

For Beta, Drozanna is the best candidate for a neutral hub, especially for merchant and pirate themed characters, and it does have some room for additional services to bring it up to at least DS9 level. Preferably though, it could go beyond that and have personnel and skill officers stationed there since while ESD isn't so bad, Kronos is nothing but a hassle to do anything in (though the night city visuals are nice).

Nimbus would be a good candidate too, if there was a reliable way to get to it for non-Romulans.

I second the K-13 suggestion for Alpha, the map has the space for it, it looks really nice when the damage is fixed, and it has red/blue faction versions already so no-one would be excluded though a true neutral where both sides could interact would be better. Having it both a hub and a fleet facility might be confusing to new people I suppose, but it still is nice and the only TOS themed area on the map which would make it a natural hangout for Temporal recruits.

Aren't Nimbus and Drozanna already neutral hubs? They have Barkeeper (for selling), Drozanna also has Exchange and all factions can meet there, right?

They are partial hubs, they are missing a lot of the services beyond just basic merchant, bar, exchange, and whatnot. Oddly enough Drozana does have a ship manager, though not a ship vendor or ship tailor, and Nimbus does not have anything ship-related. They both need skills vendor, ship vendor, ship tailor (Nimbus needs the clothing tailor as well iirc) and a few other critical services (like a temporal agent) to be a full hub to avoid long slogs and other hassles.

It would not be so bad if Kronos wasn't such a spread-out mess or the fleet facilities weren't pretty much guaranteed to dump players to login screen if they have to go anywhere that is not covered by a single, direct transwarp jump (not to mention the fleet stuff is an even worse spread-out time-wasting mess than Kronos).

Drozana is also a good place for non-Syndicate Orions to hang out since technically the KDF has an agreement with the head of the Syndicate, not the Free Traders and whatnot, and having to traipse over to Kronos all the time is rather immersion breaking.

You don't need to have played either arc to access the hubs.
New Romulus can be accessed right out of the faction Tutorial - except for Romulans Republic characters!
The Dyson Sphere needs one of two transwarps:
    • Fleet Spire Transwarp
      Resulting access obtained at any level, out of the tutorial;
    • Dyson Sphere Reputation Tier 1 - Transwarp
Level 50+ given that's when Reps become available.

You also get access to the Dyson sphere by doing the Sphere of Influence mission, iirc, since it causes the gate rings to emerge from subspace and after that you can travel to the rings and go through to Delta quadrant (or something like that, it has been a while since I actually did the arcs in order).

So when I enter New Romulus with a character who hasn't completed the Romulus arc, the intro always starts and I can't skip it...

    Yep, it's unskippable.
However, that cutscene plays because you haven't completed "New Romulus Aid", the first mission in that arc.
Accept the mission before beaming down and the cutscene will play as usual. If you then follow through and complete the rest of "New Romulus Aid", the cutscene will only play again if you access it from the replay console.

Adding Aenigma Nebulas for access to the captain's tables would be nice. it would also be nice if they completed the plan of letting you choose your exit. enter at ESD exit at New Romulus, and sine we are one big happy fleet now, even allowing exits ar Earth and Qu'Nos for opposite factions

Have a third ship post for Romulans to be the vault after the Romulan mystery arc. New Telax in the Delta Quadrant and maybe a fix of more stuff to do on New Romulus, Deferi and maybe Lukari and Kintari.
