*I* specifically clarified when it was announced that it could not be broken down, so your argument about lack of communication is lacking. So, stop trolling.

In one location ? What about all the other locations this information is communicated ? or, the actual article ? or the Item In Game that has the same name as an existing item but a different functionality ? Far from everyone uses the forum for information, the team is good and keeping us up to date on FB and X - but this seems to have slipped by entirely, the first I knew of it was when my first fleet member got one and told us and I follow both the FB and X accounts *shrugs* Doesnt seem like trolling to say a quite important piece of information Wasnt communicated about well when it Only got to you if you use one of Multiple possible ways of getting information.

You told the forum, and thank you for that, but we dont all use the forums for information and it isnt stated as they put it "up front" in the article; yes it can be used for all thsoe ships - so can the existing token with that name, it doesnt tell you it Is not the same as the other tokens of the name and cannot be exchanged in that article, or in the game until you have it, and even then it doesnt actually tell you - it just isnt there.

You know, I perfectly understand Cryptic putting extra restrictions on this compared to a "normal" Epic Prize Token. But I am genuinely irritated they didn't say it up front. The lack of communication is frankly insulting.

    1. They did. https://www.playstartrekonline.com/en/news/article/11569544
    2. There was discussion about it when it was first announced: https://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/startrekonline#/discussion/1273686/delete-alt-control/p1
    3. Yes. Everything they do is personally designed to insult you. At least you didn't say it was a slap in the face.

1: That says it can be used for ships, yep that is correct, it can be, what it DOESNT say is that it *Cannot* be broken down, that sentence in the announcement " may be used to purchase a Tier 6 Starship from among those currently included in the Phoenix Reclamation Store" Is a valid and applicable sentence to the normal token, with the exact same name.

2: and for everyone that *DOESNT* use the form for primary communication on the game ? There was no FB announcement, I dont recall one on X though I dont follow it quite so commonly anymore.

(3, well of course they didnt, its just and unfortunate move that means the prize was of less benefit to a bunch of people from which quite a lot didnt know as STO are *generally* quite good at communicating on all their platforms and people dont tend to check them all)

Guess I was having memories of rewards given on the Console version of the game years ago. Where you could earn some T6 ships but it was per character not account unlocked. So some have the Lukari Ho'kuun and Ferengi Warship, but not the newer alts.
All Ships unlocked via Events are account-wide unlocks for us on Console too.
The Lukari Ho'kuun and Ferengi Warship were both Z-Store giveaways at some stage, and those were claimed per character directly from the Store, not by completing Events.

The Ho'kuun and the Nandi were also both event ships as well though, its where all mine came from - I assume it must have been pre-console and thats why there's this difference

That does not say that it can "only" be used that way. And I did not suggest it was meant as a "personal" insult. Considering that Cryptic is, to be blunt, not the best at communication, it was a fair statement.

It clearly lists what you can claim with the token. And no it's not a fair statement.

All of which is true for the other token already in game with the exact same name ... it can be used for all those... nothing in the announcement says anything about it not having the exchange or being in any way different to the other Already existing token with the exact same name, like seriously, the behaviour is changing, would it have been so hard to put Epic SHIP Prize token as the name ?

Yes, the Console version of the game launched in September 2016, and these were Event ships from before the launch.
Thus, nobody would have them on account unlock (except Event Campaign 1 reward unlock) and we only got them per character from the Z-Store.
I hadn't realised they were character-only unlocks and so only have the Ho'kuun on one character but I did for the Nandi, and have it on all my characters that existed at that time.

Thank you that explains, for some reason I thought you immediatly went in to getting the same festival rewards so assumed you would all have the Ho'kuun was a ship from the year after console launch

Forum lawyering isn't necessary. Also, I'm the arbiter of what is and isn't trolling on this forum, but thank you for your input. Have a nice day! 😊
