Ship Customization always defaults to the same hull material

tagentagen Member Posts: 545 Arc User
Whenever I go to the ship customization interface, the hull material is shown as Type 1 (this is on a Klingon character). If I change it to a different material, save it, exit the interface, and go back in, it is always back to Type 1.

When I have a chance I will test this on the FED side to see if anything similar happens.

I have some of ships simply can't be customized at all. Maybe there's a default on some ships that can't be changed.

For me, this is mostly event reward ships. Some of them have no options available other than maybe colors. On those I use vanity shields instead.

And, speaking of shields, if it looks like a ship *should* have options and the look never changes, make sure you don't have a shield overriding the hull material. I have done that before, too.

You need to do this everytime. Click on the interface to go into Ship Customisation, then immediately drop out of it when it loads in, then go back into it. It will then show exactly what you have on. For some reason it doesn't sync with the database correctly and the second entry kicks it into touch.

If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

That sounds like you have a shield that has a Visual on it that applies a skin over your ship.
Try right-clicking the shield and choosing "Disable Visuals".

This aspect of it I have actually seen before. The difference now is that even the 2nd time I go in, while I think it shows other things correctly, the material is always Type 1 no matter what it is really set to.
