in Xbox One Gameplay Bug Reports
I am having an issue where I customize my ships color and it does not save the changes. it goes back to system standard. anybody else haviing the same issue?

    It sounds like you have a shield equipped that has a visual.
    On your Ship Equipment screen, you should be able to press a button that will enable/disable the Shield Visual. For me, on PS4, it's the Square, which I believe corresponds to "X" for Xbox Controllers.
    If that doesn't work, you should have a look in the Visuals tab.
