Assimilated Console

I have removed the assimilated console from all my ships and the impulse engine effect has appeared on all my ships included on my new ships where I have not put it on. It so really annoying to see the effects of the console and I have applied to several ships to try and hide the effect no go.

    If you're using the Assimilated set, all of the parts have separate visuals that they add to your ship.
    • The Assimilated Console just adds 6-8 Borg-like 'dimples' to your ship;
    • The Impulse Engine adds a metallice caterpillar to one of your warp nacelles and a glowing green thruster-like extension to one of your impulse engines;
    • The shields add a Borg-like texture to the hull and turn your warp nacelles green;
    • Finally, the deflector is responsible for adding the various spikes to your deflector.

    If you don't like the visuals, you can right-click each item in the ship interface and "Disable Visuals" - including the console.
    Thus you can equip the four items to get the stat benefits but not have them transform your ships appearance.

    Not a bug.

    The console does not give the impulse engine effect. As Inferiority says, it's the assimilated impulse engine that gives that effect, and it can be in your impulse slot or vanity slot, which can be disabled or removed.
