Support have asked that I post this thread concerning some issues with the portal weapon from the Shrike.
Weapons that don't work with portals: Fire at Will, Torpedo Spread and Cannon Scatter Volley attacks do not appear to pass through portals.
Firing arc issues: The weapons that can fire through portals depend on where the enemy ship is, not where the portal is. To put it another way, if you use the portal weapon on an enemy in your rear arc you can only fire your rear weapons at it, despite the fact that the portal is in front of you.
Passing through portals: if you fly your ship through a portal it emerges on the wrong side of the exit, i.e. if you fly through a portal towards an enemy you end up flying away from them. Forgive the attempt at ASCII art...

The next one may or may not be a bug.
Portals close when enemy is defeated: when attacking a group of enemies the portal will close when the one it was first targeted at is defeated. It would be better if the player has control over when the portal should close.
Final point is likely a design decision but would be a big improvement if re-visited.
Portal range: 15.5km is a little close to get full use out of the console, especially if the player intends to fly through the portal. Because portals appear at some distance from the player's ship, by the time they get close enough to pass through the portal they are close enough to fire normally (<10km). 20 or 25km would make the portal weapon a lot more fun, and it is quite a lot of fun already. (Opening a portal and grabbing an enemy with subspace snare is frankly hilarious.)
