Abilities not consistently activating on keypress

Numerous abilities including Console, Captain, and BOff abilities will (seemingly) randomly decide not to activate when pressing the appropriate button(s). Both single press slotted abilities, and ones only in the wheel. Examples are Dynamic Power Redistribution Module, Tractor Bram, Engineering Team, Hazard Emitters, and more.

Often the icon will flash, acknowledging input, but it will not activate. Something it takes 3-5 presses (or more) before the game decides to let it happen.

This is in addition to the issue where abilities that toggle on, then off give little to no indication whether or not they've activated successfully, unless it goes into cooldown, which means it was wasted.

wow this is the first time i`ve ever seen anyone mention this problem. i`ve often thought about reporting it myself especially after a particular frustrating moment but i fully expected somebody to jump on and blame my console or controller. the key point though is that you actually can see confirmation the button has been pressed but just no activation. these days i tend to have to mash the buttons just to be sure. i`m glad somebody has said something though unfortunately i`d be extremely surprised if anything would or could be done about it.
