Character constantly wearing wrong costume

seriantsukinoseriantsukino Member Posts: 1 Arc User
My main character on my account (Hanson), my toon is consistently wearing the wrong costume/outfit. He will display wearing a white MACO armour, on the character selection screen, and in some cutscenes, but I do not have this as a costume when I go to the tailor.

One of my costumes that I can see and select is indeed a MACO amour outfit, but this one is a blue steel colour, and has different parts and no yellow. One incorrect costume is the base vanilla MACO.5idwkdwec6vd.jpg

I can confirm this is also happening for me as a KDF character, with the DSC T'Kuvma armor from the Discovery Operations Pack.

This thing just won't leave me alone. I ended up fully replacing the outfit I had of it, but it was still showing up. Then, I deleted any piece of this armor that was on other outfits, no dice. I even completely deleted any save with the armor pieces and nope it still shows up like it never left.

this is related to a really old bug that's still in the game. essentially if you commissioned a new bridge officer while in space and then immediately entered the outfit editor available on boff commission window, and while in said editor you switched to captain and created a new uniform for your character, it creates a sort of phantom uniform, my guess is the new uniforms are added for the ship 'character' slot instead of the humanoid. it'll be invisible everywhere outside the space uniform editor, but it'll appear all over the place. the only way to access it again is to commission another bridge officer while in space, and then modify the broken uniform. since it's impossible to delete outfits, you can't fix it, just put a band-aid on it by editing the outfit into something you usually wear.
Now clowns, that's another story. They scare the crap out of me.
We fight them too. Entire armies spilling out of Volkswagens.
We do our best to fight them off, but they keep sending them in.

If you log out while on a Ground map, your character should correctly be displayed using the costume you wore when you logged out.

If you log out in Space, your character will usually display the 'default' costume you've got in the first slot - unless you've managed to get that 'phantom' costume bug as described above.
