Star Trek Online will have staggered maintenance on all platforms tomorrow, 10/12, at 7am PT for PC and 7:30 AM PT for Console. Estimated downtime is 2.5 hours for PC and 2 hours for Console. You can find the patch notes here:
Glad you are fixing the Omnis but it is a bit like musical chairs. I already bought and upgraded crafted omnis for my toons who had gotten used to having cheap dual omnis with the protostar set…
Resolved an issue that could cause unexpected behavior in detonating Mirror Borg Spheres.
I have no idea whether things are now working the way they were intended, but I do know these Spheres are now displaying more unexpected behaviour than they did before the patch. There's a delay in the explosions, making it much more difficult to predict whether a sphere is going to damage a transport (or a player).
Before today's maintenance, it became clear almost immediately whether a sphere had exploded too close to an allied ship. So you knew when to use your healing abilities.
Now, things can seem fine and then a transport will suddenly blow up anyway, as a result of an explosion from a Sphere that was killed like almost ten seconds before already.
Long message short: things were working better and were more predictable before today's patch than they're doing now.
Not in the patch notes, but (most) Prime Borg now look like their Mirror counterparts, so with body armor and not looking like a low-poly Hellraiser-like fusion of metal and flesh.
