"Thirst for battle" Starship Trait off the legendary battlecruiser bundle only gives 7 extra points to turn when a cannon skill or cloak is used. our testing team tried it on a escort and cruiser and it still only gave 7 points to turn. We tested it for 2 hours, and found that the flight speed was also static, the 230% to turn or fight speed is not functioning, it just gives a static boost based on some pre-built in programming of the trait and has nothing to do with the ship its on, thus the trait is broken and not working as intended. The Dmg output was correct at 40% category 1 Dmg boost, no issues there.
Picture 1: Thirst Trait Tool Tip: It states that when you use a cannon ability it “applies” 230% Buff to speed and Turn with 40% Dmg.
Picture 2: When you look at the cruiser stats with nothing buffing it, here are the numbers.
Turn: 6.2
Speed: 65.45
Inertia: 40
Picture 3: With (Thirst for battle applied), with cannon Rapid Fire
Turn: 13.4
Speed: 106.34
Inertia: 140
The Turn Rate:
230% x 6.2 base turn rate = 14.26 (added/Applied) turn rate. This is supposed to be “applied” to the already existing turn rate of the ship, as the trait explains. So if we “apply” 230% of the base turn rate it should look like this >>>> (230% x base turn rate 14.26) + (6.2 base turn) = 20.46 Turn rate. Since this is only applying an added 7.2 points to turn, this section of the trait is underperforming by about 49.5% .
Picture 4:
Furthermore, when you look at the picture of the Cruiser with the Thirst trait applied VIA the cloaking device, Picture 4 - the Turn rate was at (18.4) and the speed was (107.84). Thus it was using a different more favorable calculation when the cloak is applied but still not at the 230% “applied” as it is supposed to be.
The Speed:
The speed unbuffed is 65.45 (with) the Thirst for battle trait applied its 106.34 if you subtract them it = 40.89, clearly that’s not 230% value of the base speed. 230% x 65.45 = 150.53 speed not 106.34. So again, we if “apply” 230% x the base speed it equals 150.53 speed + 65.45 base speed, we will get a total of 215.98 Total speed. So 230% “applied” 150.53 + 65.45 base = 215.98. This section of the trait is underperforming by about 70% - 73% percent.
The inertia:
230% x 40 base inertia = 92 points of inertia. 230% “applied” = 92 speed + 40 base speed = 132 Total Speed. With the Thirst trait “applied”, it’s over performing with an excess of 8 points to speed. This is the only portion of the trait that is “applying” 230% (really a little better) but you see my point. This section of the trait is overperforming by about 11.5%

Its not using a different calculation for cloak. I don't believe your factoring in the fact that enhanced battle cloak has its own innate speed and turn buff. Cloaking ships will get more turn out of the trait because they have more turn from the start with ambush buff.
Turn rate buffs like everything else in STO has a diminishing return formula applied. The more turn consoles you stack the less they do. Same applies to traits spec points ect. So even if you take your turn consoles off you still have spec points. I imagine if you respected with zero points in impulse speed you would probably see close to the exact number you expect. With skill points traits consoles dim returns hit the trait as I would expect. I don't know maybe I'm wrong... I don't know what the exact formula is on turn rate. All I know for sure is this trait makes the fat boats turn like escorts.

My Cruiser does not turn like an escort, The stats above reflect what I was getting, Escorts have 70-90+ points of turn once they have some gear on them. This trait only added 7.2 Turn no matter what I was flying, that would not take a cruiser to escort level turning and speed. The trait itself, in the tooltip does not explain or factor in any kind of dim return nor does it show any of the formulas for it. It just says it will apply 230% Turn and speed. What I was showing clearly indicates that the trait is under performing. I also took off all items and traits that boosted my Speed and turn, to get a base reading on the trait, you can see in the images that I removed the RCS consoles off my ship. The only thing I had was 3 points in the skill tree for speed and turn.
When I tested the DIM Return idea I added 52.5% Turn RCS to my ship, It added +3 points turn to my Ship, then I added another RCS for the same 52.5% and it added another +3 Points flat to my ship, then I did it again, added a 3rd 52.5% RCS to my ship and it again added +3 points flat to my ship. So I am not seeing any kind of DIM return.
So if we were to take this math, 4x RCS at 52.5% = 210% that alone would add 12 points to my ship for turn and noticing there is no Dim Return that I can see, a 230% Applied increase again would not be 7.2 points but the 14.26 that originally stated.
But one thing I did not consider was what you said about the cloaking has its own turn and speed buff, that would account why the stats were better under cloak, thank you for pointing that out.
