Traits screwed up after mission where you play as different ship

Map: all (subsequent to Temporal Ambassador)
Issue:
After being forced to control the Enterprise-C in the above mission, upon returning to your own ship, your traits are irreparably screwed up, with 'phantom' traits being stuck in use (even though none are selected), such that you cannot restore your previous traits (image below).
Then attempting to reload the loadout results in this situation, where one of the traits is, as far as I can see, not even a trait:

Temporal Ambassador, Sphere of influence, A Step Between Stars, Revolution, and some others that I can't remember the name of atm all have temporary mission ships that mess up character traits once you finish the mission and return to your normal ship.
I've gotten in the habit of checking my character after finishing a mission with a temp ship.
Effects both PC and Console versions of the game.
