"Vaadwaur Cluster Torpedo" cannot be equipped below level 50.

The way the game is set up, I can make a new character and skip almost every mission up to "Revelations" which I can then play at as low a level as 2.

The problem however, is that the mission reward, the "Vaadwaur Cluster Torpedo" cannot be equipped even though it may be Mk II.

As I level up, I can upgrade the Torpedo to Mk IV, VI, VII, or even X, yet still cannot equip it until I reach level 50.

The WIKI link you posted clearly says - Note: This torpedo is only usable at level 50+ even if obtained before.

I know - that's the bug I'm posting about. A Mk X item should be equippable at level 40 and a Mk II at any level.
The Breen Transphasic Cluster Torpedo doesn't have this problem, and I don't see why this restriction should be in place for the Vaadwaur one.

Yeah, just because it's on the wiki doesn't mean it's working as intended.

I certainly hope this isn't what "working as intended" looks like in this case. lol

My understanding is this is intended. Its not intended to be a low level I win button.
Tricobalt weapons only appear at MK X. You can't get a Tricobalt launcher or mine lower then X. I am pretty sure they added restrictions on these when they level unlocked gear so that you couldn't use it before end game.

The reply versions cannot be upgraded either. You can upgrade the first torpedo only. The rest of them are none upgradable.

I'd be expecting such a device to scale properly and not be a "1 win button". There's plenty other (and probably better) items that could do that job for me.

A Mk II item should be equippable at any level, and given the scaling in the game, this shouldn't be a problem for me, or anyone else, wanting to use it.

You linked a transphasic mk ii not a tricobalt mk ii. Unless something has changed Tricobalt MK2s don't exist.

I agree they should do something with the mission Tricobalt cluster... probably give it to people are MK 12 no matter the level they are at to make it clear that its intended for end game. I agree that it is sloppy, confusing and bad development work to have them spawn at mk 2 but not be usable until level 50 (Mk 12).

I don't disagree with just unlocking them at MK 2 either... I mean that is up to them. I was just trying to explain how the mess up has happened. Tricobalts have never been intended to be used before end game. Even when the game launched 14 years ago Tricobalts only came at mk x which at the time was max level. When they unlocked those missions to be playable earlier they clearly didn't look very hard at the reward.

Good catch - although it was rather late at night when I grabbed that screenie, so my brain was clearly asleep.

"Beyond the Nexus" has a tricobalt torpedo launcher as a mission reward but it's part of a set, so I may not be so inclined to consider it a valid example.
