Typing in Discord Overlay affects STO underneath.

When I am playing STO, bring up the Discord App's overlay feature, and start typing, my ship underneath will respond to game-mapped keystrokes, like WSAD. The Overlay doesn't do this on other games, but in this case the input bleeds through the overlay to STO. Here are some facts:

running Windows 11 Home (up to date)
using a Logitech G110 keyboard, Logitech G700s mouse, and Logitech Gaming Software 9.02 to manage them.
have killed the Logitech software and used a non-gaming Logitech keyboard. Problem persists.
have run STO in both windowed/borderless and fullscreen mode. Problem persists.

I suspect that STO is doing something odd with reading input given other games do not have this problem and because of some old weirdness I had with another gaming keyboard when writing in-game macros and having STO mis-read a single keypress as multiple keypresses.
