Temporal Multi-mission Science Vessel molecular reconfiguration setting constantly resetting to neut

Whenever I set my ships molecular reconfiguration setting after entering a new instance it gets reset to neutral shortly after engaging enemies, requiring me to set it again, shortly after which it resets again. It is making it very difficult to use the ship as I am on xbox and have to use the wheels as it is not an auto fire option. I posted the issue on reddit and others have said it happens to them too. This is my favourite ship, I hope this issue will be resolved. The Molecular Destabilisation Beam does auto-fire, but you have to select it's mode of operation.
It may just be my old eyeballs, but I'm seeing nothing happening in that video.
