Mission: Takedown > The Hunt For Gaul > Defeat Gaul Cannot Progress [Solution]

I ran Mission: Takedown (Delta Quadrant story arc) and when I got to the ground portion of the mission, The Hunt for Gaul, I ran into a bug where the mission would not credit or progress for the Defeat Gaul objective. Gaul just stood there for many minutes and became un-targetable. After beaming to my ship and continuing the mission, I noticed that I did not scan the drop pod in the very first area you beam down to. Please note scanning the drop pod is not a mission objective.

Solution:
  • Log out and back in
  • Continue mission
  • Scan the drop pod
  • Progress with the mission accordingly

    I ran this on another captain of mine and 3 attempts in a row with making sure to scan the drop pod still resulted in Gaul bugging out like before. The 4th attempt played out correctly and I cannot say what the solution was. I let all dialogue and cutscenes play out completely, but I'm unsure if that had any positive effect or not.

    Often, clicking the [X] button at the top-right of a dialog won't progress the mission which can lead to enemies remaining 'blue' and undefeatable.

    This may be what the problem was, or it may not - I'm merely offering a possibility...

    Usually, the dialog window can be re-opened by a button toward the lower-right of the screen, unless you moved them elsewhere in the UI customiser.

    Good to know, but that was definitely not the case. What I believe is supposed to happen is when Gaul's health drops a cutscene is supposed to trigger to advance the mission, but it won't trigger sometimes.
