So the game somehow knows when I've reached the limit of bridge officer slots, duty officer roster slots, and ship slots, etc. but it doesn't seem to know when I've reached the limit of costume slots...?
Why is that?

Well, the OP didn't exactly convey that information in their report, which is why we're questioning what they're referring to. We're having to make guesses at their intent here. "The game somehow knows" would seem to indicate the C-Store restriction on maxing out slot purchases for the mentioned Services. All information that I've been able to find seems to indicate no such limit on Costume Slots. As you say, though, surely there is an upper limit. But I have heard of players with 200+ costume slots. Surely this player hasn't exceeded that number.

What happens is that the game simply OVERWRITES over your slots from the beginning of your costumes, which actually is causing us to LOSE both costumes and slots. (and $$)
I'm sorry if I wasn't clear before, but I have reported this on many occasions, and nothing ever comes from it. This is the most attention that this has ever received, so I am finally hopeful that maybe something will finally be done about it. Thanks for listening!

Well, this is good information to have, because even the wiki doesn't have that noted. I'm sure that @chrian can confirm whether this is the intent. Perhaps the C-Store can be updated to prevent players from over-purchasing Costume Slots, as they do with other Service slots. As for your loss of Zen, have you reached out to Customer Support for a refund? I would highly suggest that to at least get your Zen back for the unusable slots. If you have trouble with that, let me know.

@chrian Yes, that is correct. I've been playing this game since Beta on an almost daily basis, so I have had a lot of time to create and save many costumes.
