whatever happend to those old mission arks!

you know i realise this has been brought up many times in the past and probably still does get mentioned.

but doesnt it bother anybody more so those of us that are vets of star trek online. that likely can still remember when we were all told that the old mission arks that got removed. i.e spectres.. the old cardassian missions.. the old kobali missions etc. when we were all told by the devs of star trek online that they were only removing the old ones to remaster them then that afterwards they would add them back into the main episode selections. and yes before anybody comments to my post and says.. oooh but we still can play them once we reach lvl65..

here is a counter point to any comment along those lines.. the point is. we should not have to wait till we get to lvl65 in order to do them.. fact is.. cryptic etc back then stated that they would readd those arks to the episode main selection missions.. and yet have they?

now i really want you all to think about that for a few minutes or so.. have they remastered them and readded them to all the rest of the episode selections.. namely in the same selections of where.. the all the new ones are. .mmm to give an idea of where i mean. namely where they have such story arks as future perfect or is it future proof. etc etc.. and the ju'la selections on the main episode selection..

so my question to @cryptic is this.. when are you going to finally put them back into the main episode story mission ark selection menu's ? its about time after all these years that you did so.. that is if you truly care about your player base and those of us old sto veterans that still are playing your game after all this time.

I was having trouble finding the old Breen arc. I wanted to get that snow grenade for my new Andorian toons.

Apparently there is a way to still play them, if you dig deep and skip or complete a lot of other episodes first. Which I didn't want to do. I just want to play that one episode.

It would be nice if they were put back in the main episode selection screen. I don't really see the point of making stuff that's already there and ready to be played less easily available. Surely you want people to be able to play the content you created? What does it matter if they're playing a new episode or an older one? As long as they are enjoying it, that's all that matters, right?

And it's not as if they are really opposed to us to playing older content anyway, given all the constant events that are built around - yes - older content...

Another stupid thing about them removing the breen arc, is the fact that the archive you discover in it is destoryed in the iconian arc, and if you do all the story missions in order, including nimbus and not do anything else to level up, the archive gets destoryed BEFORE you can do the missions where you discover it. I mean come on that is just stupid!

Spectres has a similar problem, though it is more thematic than continuity in nature. It was designed for around the late twenty to early thirty levels and provided a source of TOS weapons just in time to avoid having to mix TOS and TNG weapon SFX.

It was a great boon to AoY characters (though it was made before AoY) but with it locked away behind the endgame wall now TOS themed characters essentially get hit with a pay-to-play-TOS situation because the only other sources of the weapons a c-store package or K-13.

That package is very expensive in realworld cash, and the problem with the K-13 route is that in most fleets it would take buying up a lot of dil on the zen-dil exchange to contribute to unlock the ability to buy from it (and of course the cost of the weapons themselves) that early in the game.

And that is ignoring the fact that Spectres arc is one of the most unique fun ones in the game and really should not be locked up in obscurity in the bug-ridden, temperamental, and ironically named "Availible" tab.

While I agree that there is no good reason to move spectres-arc to endgame, obtaining TOS-equipment isn't the problem.
Sure, once a TOS character makes the time-jump you loose access to the TOS-equipment vendors, but you can still replay the episodes from the TOS-area for level-appropriate MK-versions of TOS weapons from mission-rewards and drops.
This is really no different from farming the Spectres-episodes every 10 levels.

BTW the K-13 TOS-fleet weapons are Mk XII, so no option for a levelling player.

Ya I agree I like the spectres arc, and also it unlocks your ability to make comet cocktail at drozana, which you need for the bartender doff chain, and it also makes a very nice tribble as well.

Fortunately, the old Featured Episodes are available in the Available tab, once you reach level 65 you can play them.

Hey, look at the bright side... Saturday's Child, The Kuvah'magh, The Ultmate Klingon, and many more were removed and never seen again in any availability.

At least I can still play Spectres or the Breen arc, even if it takes some extra effort on my part to do so.

I can still play Saturday's Child. Unlike the Klingon War missions, most of the ancient Romulan and Cardassian missions weren't actually removed from the game, just made unavailable for anyone who didn't still have it queued up on their mission logs. Granted, some are unplayable, but are still in the game
