Federation Klingon BOff missing smooth (augment virus) head options

Shortly after I first started playing, I completed the TOS starfleet chapter of the game and went to the 25th century. When I got a new Klingon bridge officer on the same TOS starfleet captain, I found that I could not change the head and body type from "ridged" to the "smooth" variant awarded to players who complete the TOS starfleet chapter. On my Klingon character, both my captain and BOffs have the option for changing their head and body type from ridges to smooth. I thought it might have been a glitch with my officer, and I deleted it thinking that getting a new one would solve the problem, but the same issue occurred with the new officer I now have.
