The list of tradeoffs made to further the event train never ceases to amaze me. The silly event version only seems to last a few minutes lol. Hardly enough time for any sense of immersion or challenge (for me at least).
I thought it was better when they had both up. At least you had the opportunity to stress your gear a bit.
But players would just clear the minimum number of rounds to get credit (for the event) and then wipe - only to be resurrected repeatedly
But players would just clear the minimum number of rounds to to get credit (for the emote) and then wipe - there's other venues available to get a premade team going for the full pull of 100 rounds.
But players would queue up for the wrong version - it's a learning experience and something they'd probably do only once.
Other ideas -
Survive for 100 rounds and get 14 days event credit
Qualify for the dance emote (21 rounds) and get 3 days event credit
Ended up beside another engineer in Sompek tonight after swapping out some kit modules from the previous page for a more stationary kind of game play.
Anchor of Grethor and Gravity Containment Unit for grabbing and dragging things, two drones, and a mortar.
The other player had more drones, another mortar, and medical and shield generators. Even though we stayed mainly in the middle I thought that the coverage provided by our gear was pretty good.

"I remember when some events were special"
I guess it was time to mix it up a little.
I get why they made a short version for events, but it wouldn't hurt anyone if players had the option of queuing for the normal one, right?
I also find this event much less enjoyable because of limited challenge and immersion by being forced out of the mission after round seven.
